    Yankees Curse?

For any remaining Yankee fans on this board (by my count, that's me, Tuffy, Irul, and Benny Profane... everyone else here seems to be a Red Sox bandwagon ho), check out the Daily News' piece about which players should be tossed... AND the true reason for the Yankees' ALCS collapse: DON MATTINGLY! Now it all makes sense.

Yanks up 3-0. Sox win 4-3.

Thanks Kevin Brown!!! Bring him back to the Bronx.

And I thought the Yanks fans were the king of the bandwagoners? It's OK Yanks fans...there is always next season.

Oh, and it's back to that thing. Sooooo.......how are da sox fans feeling? A little confused? Maybe a bit let down? Like, this isn't how it's supposed to feel? I know, after the party was over, there came thoughts of "what's next?". All those years of embracing the pain, expecting the letdown, and it's all gone. The young ones will only expect it to continue, but the older and wiser know better. Now you're just like all the other won-a-series-every-30-years or so teams (Mets? Cardinals?). George is already working on next year, and you have a 30 year old who has to live up to this for the rest of his life. I'll take George. He has a history. And he is hurt deeply. But has learned to delegate.

Manny as MVP. That just about describes the quality of the '04 series.

Don't forget about me, y'all. NY 4 Eva.

As for Manny as MVP, I would really love to watch a compiled video of all of the catches he dropped this year. Any idea how long that would be?

how have the last 4 years of offseason george worked for ya?

i can't speak for the rest of the beantown mags, but as for me, i don't feel let
down or confused at all. i'm happy, and i'm looking forward to seeing what team the sox put on the field next year. as for pressure to repeat- doubt it'll be any worse than the pressure to win for the first time in 86 years.

benny has proven time and time again this season that he has absolutely no clue what boston natives feel about their team during the season and after the season. he has been and will continue to be full of shit in this regaurd.

if anyone ever takes his posts about boston, and their fans seriously, you too are buying into his total make believe world.

he obviously let himself down as a baseball fan this season. he bailed on his pinstripes early, got on the cards wagon... he probly thought that was smart, untill the cards started to fold. nothing left to do but take shots at red sox neation eh??? do everyone a favor, STFU untill next season. you can watch opening day at fenway when we raise the banner in front of your boys (or the boys you bailed on to root for another set of loosers).

The papers have it all wrong. It's not Mattingly, it's BOONE. The curse of the Boonino. The guy puts you in the World Series, and he's rewarded by getting his contract yanked for playing basketball.

As for how I feel, after years of hearing it from Yanks fans, after hearing 1918 on the school bus from 1st grade until I got my license, after being best friends with a Bucky Dent fan from age 2, after watching Rocket and Boggs betray us... and on and on... I can sum it up in five words:

Not only did they beat the NY Chokers, and the Cards, they did it after Passing around the JD family style. The Yankees are losers, and they still have to shave and get their crew cuts and stay sober. Corporate clone losers, what a fun team to root for Georgie can assemble all the talented sellouts he wants, Red Sox got soul AND a World Series Championship!

Probably 30 seconds. But the sight of Manny taking that HR away from Cairo, and stupid Cairo rounding the bases because he didn't believe the play could've been made, will play in my head forever.

NY 4 Eva--is that what it says beneath your tinted rear window, and mad steeze rear spoiler, on the back of your Honda?

Hmmm...I see some Sox fans are still a little intoxicated and yet somewhat, uh, bitter? Why would that be? Take your mom's advise and be a graceful winner, dudes. Maybe I'll see you in Fenway next spring for that rare little ceremony. I've seen 6 in NY.
