    God bless DST

Nothing beats waking up and discovering that one of your alarm clocks has set itself back an hour for some reason...and then realizing that it's daylight savings time ending! Got to love the fall.

Last year I totally got screwed. For the fall, I was on night shift, so instead of having a 12-hour shift I instead got a 13-hour shift (but at least there was nothing going on at work so I got to watch the clock get reset an hour...that SUCKS). And then in the spring I was deployed and working days, so I lost an hour of sleep. Sunvabitch!

Anyway, getting extra sleep on a work day roolz. On 12-hour shifts, it seems I can't ever get enough sleep.

I actually feel ready to go deal with the day...alright.

I'm hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep. I loved my extra hour of work. The only entertaining bit of it was an hour from the end of the shift, watching the look on the face of the biggest tosser in the company when he was told that he'd come in an hour early. Hehe.

an extra hour of skiing is never a bad thing

I got up today to ski teton pass w/ a friend early this morning before he headed back to Colorado. I would have completely forgotten about the falling back but as we were sitting in the summit parking lot waiting a suspiciously long time for the sun to come up, he reminded me that our early start was, really, a very early start.

I must say, I, for one, would much rather ski pow than sleep. We got three runs in - most of which involved knee to waist deep snow billowing at or above head-level. I think I set a personal record this morning with a full 4-5 seconds of powder induced "snow-blindness". Needless to say, tonight I will sleep well.
