today has been a good day (sorta sr)

This morning, I got up and went to work like normal... I came back at 9 to go to and good things just started happening. First, I found out that both of my classes tomorrow were cancelled. When I came home for lunch, two packages were in my mail, one was the Helly Hansen video, the other a Rage Films shirt I didn't think I'd get. Sorry for doubting, but after the TGR hat debacle from last, not getting High Life until November last year (preordered when it was posted), and never seeing any issues of Power this year, I wasn't expecting much.

After eating, I made a phone call to a former boss and turned down a job offer for over my winter break. I would have made a large amount of money, but now I have all break to ski, no working, not even for a day. After lunch I went to WalMart and bought some super sick shorts for my bithyclist costume, tomorrow the Halloween debauchery starts, then off to Madison Saturday for more shenanigans. Now, I sit here watching my new movie and scraping the bases of some freshly waxed skis. Only bad part is I won't use them for a while.

Thank you TGR for the diary.

Oh? A good day, you say?

From the 2k5 EC Summit thread:

FWIW - You ever seen those Southwest Airlines "Wanna get away?" commercials?

I just dumped the entire contents - meaning ALL - of a steaming hot cup of coffee / hot chocolate.

You see, I was merely stirring the coffee. Then the phone rang. In what I can ONLY refer to as a Tourets-like response to the ringing telephone, I made some movement which I cannot clearly define. It was as if I was half asleep & dreamt I was about to get hit by a truck.

So I flail a now well-stirred cup of coffee into the air. It first bounces off my outstretched hands because I figure "Hey - hot coffee! Catch it!

As I'm screaming because of my newly burned hands, the cup bounces off my thigh, and dances across my entire desk in true Broadway fashion. From right to left: Digital phone, mouse, PC, monitor, keyboard, desk return. ALL of my notes for the day are now covered in a sticky brown, semi-viscous sludge. I do not know whether they can be recovered. My keyboard now has that "Fresh from the factory!" tack on all of the keys, but alas - I know the difference between "fresh from the factory" and the fact that I'm a fucking moron.

I used an entire Industrial roll of hand towels to clean everything up off the floor, 16 packs of electronics wet-naps and 10 packs of pads.

Yes, I want to get away. Right fucking now.
