Collect Weather Sites here (ONS: New Forum?)

OK, so everyone knows weather.com. But there's a lot of other really good weather sites out there. For example, for the PNWet, there's the NWAC site which totally rools for accuracy with regard to WA and even Hood:
    http://www.seawfo.noaa.gov/products/SABNW
    (it's not active yet).

Also note to Puget Sounders: 410 is washed out right by the Crystal turnoff, so Chinook access will be tough until they get that fixed. Let's hope it's patched soon so we can do the preseason victory laps up there.

Anyway, howzabout youse kooks sharing your weather websites. SLC and San Juan sites exponentially apprecipitated.

    Washington State Pass Reports

Quick rundown of what's going on in the passes in WA. KQ pretty much killed it with her list, that Tiger site is rad.

http://www.met.utah.edu/mesowest/ - good for some temperature records

http://www.coloradoski.com/ - gives the 2 PM snow report, so you know how much snow you will actually be skiing the next day as opposed to the 24 hour total.

All you need to know for Bridger Bowl

its down for the season right now, but once the resort opens, its updated hourly with snowfall amounts, wind speed and direction, and temp.

So 410 is washed out south of the turnoff? Doesn't the road close there pretty early into the season, anyway?

climate prediction center is the official NOAA long range and climatology site. Note: You may not want to open this. NSFSWACW! (Not safe for skiers wanting a cold winter)

I don't know which direction relative to the turnoff, all I know is that the access is washed out.

It does close early, usually after the second big snow. But it's been a tradition to go up there to score early season turns for a lot of us kooks.

Hey hey now - just sharing the wealth of my information. Oddly enough one of the things we frequently need to know is the temp, precip, humidity etc. on the date of loss so we're always getting certified weather reports. My job has become almost exclusively research and computer based so I get to spend all day surfin' which helps feed my Powder/TGR habit

I love that Tiger site too - just found that one last week.

I've posted this before and while it's more a resort site it does contain weather reports (through links) for all British Columbia area (kind of a one stop shoppin' site):

Ok, this comes from my top secret stash of weather sites to make my job easier. I'm linking to the Utah page, but you can navigate to Wyoming, Colorado, or the Canadian Rockies/BC from this page too.

Here's a couple of urls I often use to actively monitor storms across the Tahoe Sierra region. The first is in the northern part of the region atop Squaw and provideds incremental remote data every 15 minutes. This first storm of the 2003/2004 season has registered 0.57 inches as of 5pm or maybe 7 inches of snow with temps all day in the low 20s.

    http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/reno/remotedata/highcamp.shtml

The second at the south end of the region is just 2 miles from Kirkwood at a similar elevation to their base which tends to get a bit more than this remote sensor. The upper KW ridge usually has 1.5 to 2 times the snowfall. Today it shows this first storm dropped 0.37 inches as of 4pm or maybe 4 or 5 inches at KW base.

This site harvests the NWAC data and graphs it. It's a much nicer way to look at the NWAC stuff: www.powderstash.com

Not sure if this one has been added. It's a site where you can post conditions and read other's first hand reports:
