Wow, what a night. Still clearing the hangover and trying to do some good for this country...

What a magical night. Just watching it with 1000 die-hards and about 5 of my best friends at Baseball Tavern was ridiculous. My buddy Alex is the biggest DLowe fan and we've been all over him this year. I was a little nervous last night, but Alex just settled in and said it best "Watch Derek go to work. He loves this, he can't wait for the champagne to get flowing" Streaming out into Kenmore and just jumping and hugging and high fiving, dancing with all the people. Dirty Water, Sweet Caroline, Tessie! Breaking through the police line and walking across the BU bridge with an incredible group of fans.

I walked all the way to Inman Square, because I knew there was one more person I needed to see. 2 in the morning and I let myself into the house. My Dad is passed out on the couch. An empty champagne bottle next to him, his lucky red hat (that goes back 37 years) on his head. This is the hat that he took to the last yankee game at fenway and the Schilling world series game. I wake him up and give him a big hug, we grab some beers and start just dousing each other. When we calmed down and sat down to watch more highlights, my dad was just real emotional and happy "We finally did it. We finally won. Never thought I'd see it, but it's real" - I think the room must have got a little dusty...

So great to see everyone in the streets the whole way home, honking horns, waving, and just having a great time. It's just setting in now that we are world series champs. All the losses and all the people that have lived and died with this team, it all came down to on magical two week run. From down 0-3 to a sweep of the Cards, just an incredible run. The fans of Boston deserve this and we're ready for the biggest parade this country's seen since freaking V-J Day!

Red Sox Pitcher Schilling Strikes Out Kerry

Perhaps Boston pitcher Curt Schilling is unimpressed that Sen. John Kerry's favorite Red Sox players either are on another team or, like tens of thousands of new Democrat "voters," don't even exist. Or maybe he just prefers the president to the hometown pol.

Whatever the reason, he said today on ABC's "Good Morning America": "Tell everybody to vote. And vote Bush next week."

Mr. Botox tried to exploit the Bosox during a campaign appearance in Ohio by comparing the team's triumph in the World Series to what he predicted would be his own victory in the election.

"I've been rooting for this day since I was a kid," Kerry insisted, despite his confusion about who actually plays for the team.

President Bush made his congrats to the team's owner and president, and he thanked Schilling for his support.

don't know many people who look to their starting pitcher for political guidence. i'm not sure if it matters what he says about bush. if anyone is going to support him i'd expect it to be dudes like shill who make 25 million every two years, i mean, he doesn't want to have to give any of that money back.

if i was that wealthy i might vote for the bastard myself.

you do have a point. I was amazed last night as in Dover frickin' NH, people were running around downtown screaming and honking. I wanted to go to boston, but after seeing the traffic reports and being reminded of the last time I happened upon riot police, I restrained myself. Going to the parade on saturday though.

Man, who gives a damn about who he's campaigning for or what party he's part of?

All I care about is the fact that he helped the Red Sox win the World Series.

I'll be at the Pour House at the crack ass of dawn for breakfast.

Being "those two dudes from Boston" at the bar last night was fuggin ballsy guy. We got the whole place good and rowdy, people were buying us beers and shots and we got invited to 3 halloween parties which is cool since I don't know that many people here. The euphoria of the Sox winning is still so strong in my heart right now and it feels DAMN good!!!!!

8 in a row! The sickest comeback ever! the 100th World Series! beating the Yankees to do it!! This is the greatest sports story ever!!!!!

Totally sweet to walk around sporting my Sox visor and laughing at choads in Yankees hats.

Still kinda hungover at this point and had to bail on a job interview today, but FKNA it is FULLY worth it!!!! I can't believe it's real! Every time I see the idiots on the TV I freak out!!!!!! Good as hell to hear that sweet sweet Masshole accent with the fan interviews in town.

    Yeah Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Fuggin SICK DEAL brotha

    The Wave onthe Charles

The coolest part of the whole parade was when the duck boats were coming up the Charles. I was at the commnity sailing dock and we started the wave on one side of the charles and it went a a thousand feet + unil it hit the charles river bridge and went up over the bridge and back down the other side of the charles. It was insane. It had to be mile long and it repeated for 45 minutes.
    live the life.
