    Thumbs up The Crazies

Loved it. This is definitely not my kind of movie, but I was thoroughly entertained. It reminded me a little bit of Cloverfield/Signs/I am Legend, but I liked that it didn't try to be smarter than it was. Lots of good scares and laughs and a few very memorable scenes.

Worth seeing in a packed theater - overall just a fun movie.

on the fence about seeing this film as it's a remake of a cult classic and i generally think that remaking cult classics is lame (see the crappy TCM remakes, the crappy HHE remakes, and the crappy F13 remake for examples of such travesties).

This was the same story line as 28 Days Later which had the same story line as 1973's The Crazies. Overall, I thought it was well done in generating a creepy vibe, and the car wash scene was memorable. Looking forward to the sequel.

You clearly have a more discerning eye for this stuff than me. If you go into this movie expecting great things, you will be disappointed. If you go in and expect to be entertained, and nothing more, you will have fun.
