    First Tracks: Little Chute, ALTA

Yes mags, this is the uncontestable thread. I have placed the first turns in Little Chute, along with my pal Barker, as of a dawn patrol excursion 10-23-04. Unless otherwise documented, I own it . And since the thread has been passed about Alta closures, I wish to wallow in our victory until it opens up again

To all you mags who had the intention, the goods are still up for grab elsewhere.

I did see a couple dudes drop into Little Chute on my way up to Germania saddle Saturday morning, and commented to myself "wow, sick". Timing would be about right, but I think I'll need to see pics and some sort of notarized/sworn affidavit.

We chilled at Germ pass. You have proof buddy. I notarize and swear it. And yes--it was sick.

was that before the slide on main chute. i saw the debris yesterday and today. it went pretty big. it is a good thing that no one was hurt. as for the slide yesterday, i was told that it was 2 snowboarders that dug themselves out on toombstone ( far lookers left, mid baldy). congrats on getting little chute, but saturday would be a crazy day to be up there. it looked like a line of ants headed to a picnic from across the street.

Grab some oil and start stroking yourself or do you need to spray more?

Agreed. If you have a great backcountry experience in a coveted, well-known but seldom skied chute, please keep it to yourself.

Also, photos of your skiing exploits should also be kept to yourself.

Suppress the stoke. That's a big part of why we hang out here, right? To make sure people don't talk about anything cool they got to ski first.

Hmmmmm.....so the only reason you come to this forum is to read voluminous BS.....

If you want to be selfish and hog that "secret stash" all to yourself, go ahead. While I concur this thread was initiated in a "look at me" chest thumping manner, I see no reason not to share one's exploits w/ others. Especially when good ski-porn fuels the stoke. One should always share the location whenever the following apply:

    1) Heli territory

    2) The location is already well known and therefore tracked out on a regular basis anyway (Did anyone not know where Lil' Chute is?)

    3) Disclosing the location either through pix or through descriptive narrative adds substantially to the story line.

The same selfish attitude showed up here which resulted in this comical TR.

Have fun, be safe and keep the good TRs coming!

Alright, so seeing another one of EAGLE's posts, I'd agree that his posts tend to be a bit loud & heavy on the , but we're all a bit overstoked this early in the season.
