It means thatthey have crews on the mountain getting the mountain ready and they have to do control work to protect them. No way Alta is opening before the 18th, they still have a lot of work to do on the new lift.

Heard rumors that Alta might open before the new lift is done. (from a reliable source)

they could do it fairly easily; just open the back side and put up a closed gate
at the end of EBT or rope off the high T to let us out to 3rds, eagles nest, greeley bowl, etc.

e-mail I got this morning says they are still deciding, but have fallen behind on new lift after getting ahead before the snow came. knowing some of the powers that be, I don't see them waiting until the 18th of friggen Nov. it wouldn't shock me at all to see them open just the backside before Collins was done.

If you think too much, you're gonna get smart. What would this world do with a bunch of smart ski bums?

Ho has offered to even help me with a lift ticket to Alta since I wussed and went ot the Bird last year on the board. I have riding with him at Hood, but I hope for another run with my Utarted friends at the famed and sacred Alta.
