Nice snowpack in the Methow for pre-Christmas nordic touring from the porch.

If you’ll ship on my dime I’ll take them. I have a few students on the nordic team where I work that can use them.

Past three days in central Vermont have been incredibly good. Packed cold powder and blue sky. Today was absolute perfection, lots of vacation week folks getting out. Sunglasses are fine people, leave your goggles for Killington!

What's the go to for low light glasses that don't fog badly? My area has been pretty tight and humid this winter and I'm sick skiing in amber sunglasses and that are 50% fogged.

Bollé makes a photochromic lens that goes from clear to fairly dark. They're great!

My experience with photochromatic lenses is that the reflection from the snow and the cold temperatures makes them too dark when there is low light. Are these different somehow?

Oh, that's probably a good catch. They might be pretty dark on more open ski slopes. I use them a lot skiing groomed trails in the trees and they seem to not adjust dark too much. Especially now when the sun is low.
Later in the year, when the sun gets higher, they may not be as clear.

The Julbo ones work well and have a range to choose. At least 7 of us use them in the Methow.
Oh yeah, they’re expensive, so if not those get some light tinted goodr.

I always keep a pair of these in my pack. I usually wear polarized sunglasses but if the light fails and it's snowing hard, these are nice to have. 15 bucks, w no fog. They will fog in some conditions but their better than most. They come in a bunch of lens colors

The amazing Diggins won back-to-back events this weekend in the Tour de Ski in Toblach, Italy: her first-ever classic WC win today (15km mass-start), after winning the freestyle sprint event yesterday. She races in the 20km freestyle on Tuesday.

Any favorites for 20 degree weather jackets? I got a Dhaehlie Power Jacket for X-mas, but the fit is pretty restricting even on my relatively thin build. It's a combo of softshell and some light chest insulation.

That's prolly exactly what I'd wear for 20º, with a non-cotton t-shirt and a lightweight fleece under. Colder than that, I just wear a thicker fleece. Maybe wear a vest over till you're warmed up, or a thin nylon jacket over, until you warm up?
