    Stockli rotor 106

I've been bashing on a pair of stormrider offroads xl as my primary ski for a few years. Ive been real pleased with them, but the edges are getting thin and there's a descent amount of ptex in the bases, so now they're my rock skis. I was gonna pick up some gotamas, but then I saw the rotor 106. Anyone have a review of these? Would jesters be the ideal binding? Thanx

You should help yourself and fucking read about where to post instead of acting like you're entitled to an answer.

    That's not very nice.

I can understand why someone might post in ask TGR- hell he is asking TGR for an opinion on something.

In any case, the 106 is a very nice ski, thin wood core with two sheets of metal, twin tip, sort of a damper, less poppy version off the old Gotama.

Paired with a Jester or Griffon, would make a great soft snow ski in the West.

Oh yeah, I have to give you the obligatory "wrong forum JONG!"

(Tech talk would be where this lives.)

Jeez, I never even look in this forum- how did I get here?!!

Here I a moved it to where it belongs. Read the rules and don't worry about tools that think they is so cools.

fully seconded. They are not light skis, though.

Back to the topic at hand. I've had nothing but durability issues with various stocklis, but if you're psyched on them then I'm sure they'll work.

Back on topic (again)... Gotta ask - where do you plan on skiing these bad boys? I mean you've been on XLs for years (75mm underfoot) and now you're looking at the 106? You're in for a rude awakening if you "ain't got the skills". These aren't your typical slarve-n-skarve wide rocker boards. They are a bit softer than some of the other more race bred Stockli models, but they're still a lot of ski.

The Jesters are the Numero Uno Bindings for any wide ski. I perfer the Jester Schizo's cause you can move them forward/backward and change the characteristics of a ski. I demoed the Rotor 106. It skied in the POW like other Fattys, fast and floaty, but more stable, it does not deflect at speed like some unstable Fat skis. Super Stable at High Speeds, including Chopped up POW and even groomed runs. This is the 1 SKI Quiver to beat. Due to it's Stockli Stability, can be skied in shorter lenths. Keep in mind any ski with 100+ under foot is not going to be as Quick in the groomed. Bottom Line? It's the 4x4 Hummer of Skis.
