Game 2 Thread (was Game 1)

We can do this several ways, so let me know if we should use the same thread for whole series or change frequently.

I have been so suspect of our starting pitching from the beginning of the season - now it's 4-0 and that sucks - let's not get blown out boys.

    Goddamn

I will not post again if we lose - I want you all to know that Woody Williams never had my confidence, not the whole season. I would have started Haren, and I stated that to all who would listen before the LA series - look at how Haren did - no earned runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Why did they take him out? I am so pissed - fucking Tony - thanks for over managing-----again

o.k. - I wasn't going to post again, but watching Marquis pinch-run (he sucks a pitching FYI) was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. BWwhaaahhhaahhaaah.

    Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!
Not pretty, but they all count.

    A few thoughts:
I had real doubts going into this game (I thought Houston, but now I truly believe the Sox will do well against this team. We match up better than I thought.
My biggest concern going forward is Ortiz at first for the SL games, but Davey did OK over there earlier this year, so...
Keep in mind, Cards believers, the Red Sox will not make four errors in future games, and I believe we will do better than 3 and 1/3 innings from our starters, too.
I thought Manny had fucked up his knee on that second error. Guy was looking like he looked in the field for Cleveland.

And stop posting during the games.

edit: to say that I think the Cards coulda won this game if they'd done a bit better getting men on with none or one out, and moving runners over like they're supposed to be able to do [/giving credit to avoid a jinx if you believe in stuff like that which I don't].

    )

4 errors, 4 walks in an inning and we still get a win.

    this is looking good!

It still amazes me that manny doesnt get more flak in these situations. Everyone just shrugs it off as a manny moment. He better start swingin the bat....at least Dave Roberts can run.

Oooohhh, frustration, again. I love the guy, but if Manny tries to make it that suspensful again, the kid is done. Whew, longer game than it had to be...

Manny Ramirez has got to be one of the all time worst defensive players in the history of baseball. He's right up there with Jose Canseco. Maybe he should find a nice beer league softball team looking for a DH. Of course, he would have to get somebody to be his courtesy runner since he does not know the meaning of hustle.

    You've heard of a 5 Tool Player?

Manny is a 1 Tool Tool.

Hey, at least Canseco is multi-dimensional. He could hit home runs he could also hit wifes. Great guy.

And is there an outfield assist category for helping the opposing team get a home run? I wish I had that video.

Hopefully Manny will wake up now and realize he needs to start swinging. Its great that folks like Bellhorn are stepping up, but we really need that middle of the order.

You forgot assault, guns and drugs. I don't think he even felt that ball bounce off his head btw.

I predicted that the curse would be channeled through Manny Dumb Ass somehow this year, and, goddamn, he tried hard. He still has a few more games to really fuck up. What a schmuck.

The Red Sox would NOT BE IN THE WORLD SERIES if it wasn't for Manny's play this year. How can you say that?

Did you watch the game last night? That's not the first time he pulled that index finger in the air bullshit, looking at the crowd, while the ball is in play. Yaz must have cringed.

that shit pissed me off at first, then I figured he would have been out at second if he hadn't lollygagged his way to first. that back of the glove not-catch was really awful though

I'm amazed he didnt wreck his knee when his spike hooked up like that.

i think of manny alot like i used to think of patrick roy.

as long as brilliant saves roy made that no one else could have made outnumbered the number of times he let a goal score because he thought he could handle the puck i was ok with it.

as long as manny's rbi total is greater than the number of runs he has allowed the other team or cost ours that's cool.

so he was probably about a wash last night.

When I wrote the above, I never thought that four errors would help them win games. If that's what it takes, then I'm all in favor of it (and with Davey at first, Mueller might not even have to help with that stat).
