Little help needed for a snowboarding JONG who switched over to 2 boards 4 years ago. I've skied roughly 80 days now and can pass as a mediocre skier. Every one of those days, save a few runs, was on the orange 195 AK rockets. I Just loved the way they look, and turned out to love the way they ski.
Me: 6' 190, not afraid to go fast--but known to yardsale
Next season I'm going to spend in Tahoe/PNW/Utah and attempt 100+ days.
I want to pick up a pair of powder boards before this. All I have to compare to are the 195s and a snowboard. Truth be told, snowboarding powder in the trees is just an unbelievable feeling. The AK's are a little tough to bounce thru the trees but i love the way they can straightline and make big GS turns in soft snow. I want a ski that will slarve, smear, go mach2 to 2mph in a second, like a snowboard but and still be decently stiff enough (AKish) to handle crud and return to the lift.
I want to support a small-ish company cuz well i think what they do is pretty sweet.
Im curious of the 4 skis (ON3P BG, Bibby Pro, Surface One Life, and EHP) and please suggest any others ... what ski will slarve/smear/dump speed the best.
Im really interested in people who have ridden any 2 of the 4 and can compare a little bit. Ive read the forums and searched a bunch and all 4 skis sound superb--but since they are all a little more obscure i havent seen any 2 of them REALLY compared to eachother (and im sure its out there and thats fine just link the forum and i will be embarassed). Many thanks in advance from an addicted skier who will never board again.
