    cold air...clouds over mnts...

...and Im here at my laptop in my cubicle, thinking of turns yet to be had. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite times of the year.

Before the snow falls I enjoy taking the time to prepare my gear-- the smell of ski wax fills my basement, scraping the deep layers of storage wax off my boards and filling in small dings and gouges to the best of my ability-- Its all about anticipation, memories that I hope to repeat in reality this year, dreams that may materialize in the form of fluffy white slow-falling flakes. Thinking of how the now smooth, waxy base of the ski will soon be floating over deep untouched crystals of white.

Honing the edges with a file and bevel thinking about how amazing it feels to push against G forces during fast long sweeping arcs. Its soon going to be winter again soon and I am so glad that I am and forever will be a skier.

    Amen!

Hey Reverend Floater, how about a benediction for ole times sake? Or at least, throw down your old sig, would you?

    Werd.

Mounted up my fat boards last night. Can't wait until they get the call.

Possibly doing a quick skin at Berthoud Sunday AM. Have to scrape the wax, change some batteries, make sure my skin glue is still full of pine needles. Never skied in October before, that may change this weekend if I can find the time.

    absolutely!

I've got one last soccer match for the season on Sunday, playing for 2nd or 3rd in the standings depending on one other outcome, so I prolly won't be up on Sunday, but I will definitely be somewhere on Sat. Working on details/thoughts now, and also may call a last minute audible depending on what happens with this little storm...

I'll post/call/etc though, as soon as I know what the hell I'm doing. Tomorrow can't come fast enough.

EDIT: hey homer, tell J sorry for not having gotten back to her, I guess she was down here in D-town this week? I got busy with work and working it. Next time though... I'm counting on some more turns with you too sometime.

Damn! Couldn't quote the clouds over mnts...

Yeah it's pretty cool to see the clouds build up over the Indian Peaks. From my office I have a good view of the range and it's cool to see the "Independence Day" effect going full bore.
A lot of people earn their turns. Some just get bigger checks.

You guys wax your skis? Pussies. I haven't tuned my Axioms in four years. Spatulas in three seasons.

Oh, and by the way, California can kick Colorado's ass any day of the week. Bring it on!
