    Homebrew twintip instructions MIA?

Wasn't that posted here after the grand exodus? Or was it put up on powmag before and nixxed by primedia?

Who's had any success with this? I remember a few maggots trying it, I thought.

Search function not helping unless i get as general as "twintip" which seems a moot point.

There was an article about it a few years back in Powder.

    From what I can recall:

Heat with heat gun to weaken epoxy.
    Delam the ski,
    Bend the ski,
Epoxy the shit out of it,
Drill/Rivet the shit out of it,
Clamp the shit out of it,
    Let it cool/dry.

I don't know how it'll work with the cap Volants. May end up creasing the SS cap and weakening it, don't know. Let us know how it works out for you, though. I thought Brett had a pair of homemade twins a few years back, maybe he'll be more help.

Sell the volants and get those 190 jaks everyone was buying on evogear.com.

    ps- techtalk, beyatch.

I made some at the shop one day out of some old straight solly's. Basically like homerjay said. Heat up, bend, clamp/tape in position, stick it in the snow to cool. Then epoxy it or rivet it to hold the base and top together. Whole process is pretty quick with a good heat gun.

thanks, homer, I don't think it's worth it to me to screw up my Chubbs. I love em to death, but it'd still be fun to have the info on file once my arc angels are goners. and i'll posts this over there and kill this thread.
