    Snow Research

So me and my professors have been throwing around ideas for some undergrad research this winter. We have some good ones but i just wanted the thoughts from everybody on here. Anybody have some ideas? Stuff you'd like to see done? More research on a certain topic?

If vapor transport is the main factor in the development of unstable layers, what mechanisms can be developed that measure the transport?

Because low vapor pressure induces a rounding of crystals due to crystallization occurring in concavities and high vapor allows crystallization to occur on the ridges and points, how can one effectively measure the subsurface vapor pressure?

What energy frequencies would best be able to determine subsurface snow density? Ewok jazz bongo parties? Infra Red? Radio frequencies? Vituperative spew?

Can I get my snow science degree now?

I can't be of much help, but I had a prof. here at KU whos done alot with snow research. Might try bouncing some ideas off of him. Prof. David Braaten at the University of Kansas. Hope it could help in some way.

What about cloud seeding? As far as I can tell, no one really knows if it works.

I think Utard State U in Logan has some kind of research program. Not sure though.

i'm going to be doing a small presentation and report on cloud seeding around lake tahoe in a couple weeks, and the only information I have so far is about it is on a couple local sites that have information. Anyone happen to know any sites?
