Talking Video of skiers caught in an avalanche at Squaw

Last Thursday, 21-Jan Chute 75 avalanched with 4 skiers in it. The first 3 skiers went in through the main chute and onto the spine between Chute 75 and Chute Alternate. The last skier went in through the Rock Garden and set off the avalanche. The second skier had a head cam. No one was hurt.
There was a 35' wide crown that was about 4' deep at its deepest.

When everything turns white in the video is when the avalanche hits the second skier. Here is the link:

    Rad Jacket on the Troller'

Strange he did not take names or ask more questions, probably called it in and went back up to it.

Nice soft snow, nice work smokin' the singles line!

Further reinforces what many of us already do: ride with gear inbounds.

Glad nobody was hurt. Squaw's had enough of that recently.

+1 on wearing your gear in bounds. I wear it every day. I'm surprised they didn't stop for a few to assess the slide path.

If there really was a crown of 35" I believe it was an avi, but it looked more like a slough then a slab.

I love how they bro-brah the avi in the line and how cool they are to ski an avalanche.

Still agree, wear your gear inbounds, at least on powder days.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

+3 on gear inbounds. Batteries aren't that expensive...
