Maybe he just believes in the curse or do you think the curse has been lifted because the Sox beat the Yankees. Besides I think he was picking the Cards to win it all about a week ago.

Just a question for all you Sox fans. If after having beaten the evil empire the way you did, do you consider it just gravy to win the World Series or is that official end to the drought between championships the only thing that is acceptable. It seems like many of the Sox fans I know are looking at this as if the World Series is just gravy because the hated Yankees where finally beaten. I will also add that these same fans don't see the Sox losing in the finals but I was just interested since most of these fans aren't old enough to remember past the '86 World Series.

Technically speaking - the "curse" won't be broken until we beat Houston in the Series. I was forced to give an animated replay of Buckner this morning. Was he ever forced to leave the Country?

typical yankees fans--"curse" this, "curse" that. what a crock of shit.

guys, your team just got fucking stomped on, and your stadium was taken over by sox fans.

how about a little shut the fuck up?

    the curse is bs.

beating the yanks is nice, but obviously with out the world series we won't be champions, and that is obviously the goal.

the sox are not done, and niether is the fan base.

benny picked the cards not tuffy. he was thinking yankees the whole way.

tonight will be interesting. i think it's the first time in a billion years that the home team has won every game in the pennant series.

Yeah, tuffy did say Cards, I sorta lambasted him for it.

Tuffy's not being very gracious, but it's not as bad as the guy I know who said to me last year right after the AFB HR, "I hope their fucking place crashes during the Series." I think he was serious, too.

    the reasons why:

    the fucking diamondbacks in 01
    the angels in 02
    the marlins in 03

i thought we were shoe-ins in all of those series.

what am i supposed to be gracious for?

You can obviously do what you want. I imagine I was not particularly supportive of the Yanks here on the board last year.

In fact, I think I'll go take a look in the archives.

edit: well, either I had nothing to say or the search function sucks over there.

How about knowing the difference between a bitter Yankee fan and a Met fan. I think this is why Yankee fans and Red Sox fans deserve each other. They both talk smack, because they are under the illusion that they are somehow responsible for what occurs on the field.

As for the curse, I think this is one of the things that makes baseball, well baseball. I find it quite ironic the management of a team could trade away argueably the greatest player to ever play the game for money to fund a play which was a flop. I may not believe there is such a thing as a curse but I do remember watching game 6 of the World Series in 1986 and I still can't believe what happened. I had fun taunting smack talking NY Ranger fans with the "1948 chant" till they finally ended the championship drought in '94, I will always get the same enjoyment with smack talking Sox fans till the streak ends.

Maybe the streak ends this year, maybe it doesn't. That's why they play 'em.

what the fuck are you talking about? you're a mets fan, who apparently thinks it's lame that sox fans and yankees fans talk smack to each other, but you enjoy talking smack to sox fans? is it lame? do you do it because YOU as a mets fan are actually responsible for what occurs on the field?

Tuffy doesn't have to be gracious, I sent him a PM yesterday offering him the same invite I gave to all Yankee fans on Landsdowne Monday night (although I don't think they appreciated it) - you're welcome at game 1 of the WORLD SERIES AT FENWAY! The karma was just right this year and all those Yankee fans felt for a week what it's like to die with the Red Sox every October. Maybe they can stop being such arrogant fucktards now

Four more wins, four more group hugs and the Boston explosion continues!

PS: any Boston maggots or Boston diaspora mags planning a return - limited WS tix on sale at 3pm: 617-482-4SOX or 1877-RED-SOX9 if you're handicapped.

It would be pretty interesting if it ended up Houston vs. Boston, considering the presidential campaign.

fucking ballistic redemption for damon. holy shit.

i, for one, hope the red sox get the shit kicked out of them in the WS.
The beauty of Yankees fans is they're just as classy about losing as they are about winning.

so check out this factoid Re: the yankees and their spending ways .. ( i know boston also spends a lot, that is not the point) next season their payroll increases to something like 191 million dollars. okay, big deal right, it was 180something this year, not a huge difference. well, as it turns out the yankees have never, ever won a world series with a payroll over 100 million dollars!!!!!

    Trust someone who knows...

    It was "1940" chant.

The Rangers won it in 1994.

I still hear that F'in Matteau, Matteau chant too much to forget it. Guess when it is the one thing the Ranger fans have to look back on in their recent history, I'll let them use it to get them through the next 54 years!

[mumbling under breath about the f'in hockey strike]

Now back to your regularly scheduled Spankee bashing...

Result of 35 minutes of calls: We're sorry. All circuits are busy now.

Guess I'll be sleeping on Yawkey Way friday night...
