you were after on Saturday?
If so, I'd really like to see how it turned out.

No. To make the towers look closer, I had to back up a lot and use a long lens. But that meant too many heads in the way. Tried down at the ramp, but everyone was spinning the wrong way, so mostly butt photos. Some other angles were okay, but since no one was paying me to be there, I didn't really bother that much. Did you notice if there was a pic in the Calgary Sun the next day?Originally Posted by PlayHarder

It got wicked cold and I bolted after the first group was done. Tanner was actually throwing down some quite nice stuff. I don't think much of him as an actual "skier," but he sure knows that flippy, spinny stuff.
Dude! MORE, MORE, MORE!!!!!!! GOOD PICS!
Didn't even look at the paper yesterday.
Too bad you didn't get the shot you were eyeballing, but these are still pretty cool pics. Love the backflip off the wall.
Damn I wish I could have been up there. I will be next week and the week after training for my new job. Any mags want to get together for some beers while I'm there?
Where u training? After work beers are out as I am locked in the basement for a while, but lunch time beers are in....Originally Posted by two_planks
I went out there in search of experience. To taste, and to touch, and to feel as much as a man can, before he repents.
Unfortunately, I'm with Canuk on timing - lunch=good, evenings=I live halfway to your home, so no good.Originally Posted by two_planks

Yes it was cold but it is a winter sport. There was chunky teen in a t shirt and I was cold in a down jacket.
Two planks- I'm sure we can work out something as I work downtown and live in far NW so right on our way to Cochrane. Your invited for dinner and a few beers, you name the date.
Out in Okotoks, so maybe not quite halfwayOriginally Posted by two_planks

Seriously, you think the guy's not a "skier" when he prolly skis no less than 200 days a year. Get real, he'd prolly outski anyone you know...Originally Posted by Eldo
I have to give big props, no supper big for Tanner going in the rail jam. Last year it was him and Iannick B as the only pros and this year it was only him. This year and last he was running up that hill in his ski boots ( last years sweating like a pig, this year not so much). Last year Mike Douglas and V Dorian were in the crowd and this year Mike MCed and VD handed out stuff.
Me to Mini: that guys Vincent Dorian
Mini:who
Me: guy in ski movie, the one I said was really short
Mini: you mean the guy dressed like an elf
me: yeah that guy
mini : he is short, he would make a good elf

Doug, that sounds like Tanner. He really is like a kid in a candy shop any time there's rails or jumps to hit. Its pretty amazing that he still has the appetite to hit anything he can. Its funny, people assume he can only ski well enough to get to the end of the jump. I bet people would be amazed if they took just one run w/ him.
I know a LOT of skiers. Some of them are even better than me.Originally Posted by 1080Rider
You obviously didn't get my oh-so-subtle dig at Tanner's park vs. big mountain skills. Fair enough. Watch Year Book and get back to me.
Also, what is this "prolly" that you speak of? Some new Tanner move?
