Hey phUnk and other internet friends-

All is well here in Jersey. It has finally been getting cold out and the leaves are beginning to fall. Hopefully we'll have an early season out here.

Went home to visit the family this weekend and helped my dad around the house. Always nice to help out and especially nice when there is apple pie as a reward.

Yesterday watched my girlfriend play field hockey. I'm glad she kicks ass. I'd hate to be the boyfriend of one of the shitty players out there and have to lie when she asked how she did.

After that I played golf (I'm horrible but I drank some beers and played with some good friends so it was fun).

Today is yet another busy Monday at work. I dread work. Oh well, they're sending me to New Orleans in a couple of weeks and I'll be pimping it at "The W".

    Hope all is well!

Fantastic. Mt Rose is covered and still ensconced in cloud, snow on the High Camp cam above. Fresh cup of coffee, a nip in the air, and this kid is SO glad he moved back to Tahoe from the Big Island. This time last year had me storing my skis in the rafters of my friend's (now roommate's) garage along with all my winter clothes, shaking my head wondering why I was moving to Hawai`i in October. But, skiing has prevailed in my life, and I'm back.

Almost saw the sunrise both Friday and Saturday nights. When DJs from San Francisco come stay at your house and pump the kutz in your studio, you don't get much sleep.

Watched Yearbook on Friday night, stoke level rising and likely to stay at elevated (Orange?) alert level for thenext few months. Missed out on meeting anyone from this universe, next time perhaps in liftline.

Sat in a hot tub at 7,300' in Total-Downer for several hours with a delicious cup of 12-year old single malt last night in the sleet/rain/snow, watched the storm swirl over the crest of the Sierra, baring the black cloak of night specked with stars for a few fleeting moments before the mists came crashing back in. Weather is a wonderful thing.

yeah i probably drank more beer in a 48 hour period than I had in the last month. almost got hypothermia drinking in the 40 degree rain. My BAC is still probably over the legal limit.

at tech we are professional drinkers but at wastern they are just reckless. kinda sad how there are so many people with the only good thing in their life is getting drunk beyond recognition and passing out.

    Um...

    Knee surgery is tomorrow.

There was slushy rain on my windshield this morning when I got up to go to the gym. Where I sat on a stationary bike and watched pictures of the snow up on I-80 on the news. Which made me totally happy for a split second and then I wanted to scream.

Actually, things are fine... got my ROM back in my knee and it's feeling strong, so that's good to have a base to start with. And D. is going to loan me his ice machine, which is awesome. And Mr.AG bought me the Star Wars trilogy on DVD to watch, and said he might buy Pulp Fiction too. And I don't have to work for the rest of the week... which is never a bad thing.

All is well. Worked on the house over the weekend. Gutted the main floor bathroom. Filled two dumpsters in the alley. Got to ski Loveland on Friday. Maybe A-basin this weekend?

Although, I got a dentist apt tonight going to miss my work coed volleyball game.

How nice of you to ask. I spent the weekend with the kids, sent my wife into NYC for a few days of fun with her sister. I'll just record those 2 days and schedule a weekend in VT, right honey? Off to Home Depot at lunch. Anyone need anything?

see how long it takes a home depot employee to assemble the necessary pieces and then teach you how to build a beer bong. over/under is set at five minutes.

If it's the quarter I wouldn't go in the pool...................

doin well....getting crap together for lots of travel comin up. Today is my first and last day in the office this week before I'm off to San Fran for a weeklong course at UC Berkeley. Then next week off to Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC for a few...followed by another quick stint in San Fran...then off to Baltimore, MD the following week for a 4 day conference getting back just in time for my knee surgery. Somewhere in the midst of all that I'll be helpin ship out the Bro's....

I think it dumped a ton around Kirkwood last night...but am too scared to look at the reports...trying not to get too stoked about it.....still trying to figure out how the hell rehab is gonna take the place of skiing this winter...sigh...

Things are great here. Got some fluffly white stuff this weekend. Yesterday I freaked out all my nieghbours by shoveling all the snow off my front lawn and on to the sidewalk so I could play on the rail I made. Then I took Grace sledding for her 1st time and she thought it was the shit, but now she wants to "go skiing on the mountain". More snow today, hopefully the mountains are getting a healthy dose right now.

Quite well indeed. It has started to snow in town this morning, and might be possible to ski Tuesday. Here is a pic from my shithole appartment about two minutes ago:

Since ya asked, I'll tell ya. I feel like shit. I got the flue on Thursday afternoon and spent 3 days in bed. I'm at work but after being here for 30 minutes I think I'll leave soon because of said shit condition.

On the bright side it is 6*C and pissing at 1200' above sea level so there is a good chance the mountains are getting plastered. Now that it is cooling off the elk have come to the valley for me to "harvest" one.

Cards blew three leads to let the 'Stros pull even last night, then got wrecked in my two-week old Subi Legacy GT on my way to pick up dinner

Otherwise, working on my quarterly market newsletter and soaking up the palpable stoke on the board as those altitude-lucky folks start to sense the onset of goodness.

Family is great - girls are pure joy. I am blessed.

    Thanks for asking, phUnk.

Terps lost their homecoming game on Saturday, but the Frau and I had a ball hangin' with old friends at the tailgate and in the bar.

Pinched a nerve in my neck yesterday morning roughhousing with my kids, so I couldn't go pumpkin hunting and had to stay home and watch football... poor moi. 'Skins won for a change, although our QB has obviously swallowed a large penis in the last 6 months...

Now I'm at work and have nothing to do. I think I'll go get some lunch.

Had a great time at the tgr screening (see here) on saturday night. Last night, went on a great date (beach and rain set a beautiful stage) and woke up this morning to news that Mammoth will receive 40" by wednesday. Bring it on!
    Thanks for asking, phunk

Had my virgin ride at Lynn Woods yesterday. I was on the wrong side of the pond at first, so I was not impressed. Then I did some snooping and asking and rode the other side.Huge difference. Bruised and achy a little, fixing a bent BB and a broken pedal, otherwise riding today once this is done (that's why I'm on tha compooter, shopping for a bashguard).

Things are pretty good for me.....stayed up late watching the Red Sox game, woke up for my Fire Service Tactics and Strategy class, and it was cancelled so I went to the gym. I'm all energized and stuff now, hopefully the rest of the day goes fast......Ripley Ripper, how much snow do you have in the Keweenaw? We got a dusting over here in the Soo yesterday.....Searchmont got a couple inches I hear.

All is well in Bum Z's world:
Another weekend of watching a ton of football and drinking a ton of alcohol is complete.
Ice hockey league started - we are 1-0.
The Steelers look good, and Big Ben is awesome.
It's 10:30 AM and I'm not in some stupid office somewhere doing some shitty work that I hate.
I saw Team America, World Police. "Fuck Yeah!"
I see that it snowed and it's gotten colder. "Fuck Yeah!"
