Thread subscription notification not taking me to the new post

I have subscriptions turned on, but when i click the link to go to the newest post, it doesn't take me to the newest post. For example, someone replies to the maggot snowmobiling thread, i click the link in my email. It lands on a post that is halfway back the next-to-last page of the thread. Not only is it not the newest post, it's not even the current page of the thread.

Why is that happening? Any fix? Much better to just go straight to the new stuff.

vBulletin defaults to the first unread (by you) post in that particular thread, as indexed by TGR cookies on your machine, or your last session ID - not necessarily the new post it emailed you about a couple hours ago

if you want to link directly to the newest post in the thread after you've been off TGR for a while, either click the link before any new posts are made, or use the RSS feeds

Yeah, that's what it should do, but it isn't. I probably didn't explain very well. It takes me to posts that i've already seen several times. For example, i'll have already been notified of new posts on page 13 of a thread, i check it out, it gets another reply, i check it out again. It still takes me to page 12 instead of page 13, even though it's notified me twice of posts on page 13.

Does that make any more sense? I'm not sure how to explain. I'm a bit of an internet junkie and have spent a lot of time on a lot of different message boards (vbulletin, UBB, PHPbb, etc) and I'm pretty sure i know how they're supposed to work. For some reason, this one isn't always working properly. Maybe it's some sort of problem with the cookies? I'm not having trouble on any other sites though.
