He dropped a few jems down here.

Anyone else loving the winter, outside of the snow?

left the cold northwest for a few days in San Diego to visit the girlfriend's family....we got a couple morning sessions while there...first time I'd ever surfed in SoCal...man, I could get used to wearing a 3/2 suit with no booties, gloves, or hood in the middle of winter...wasn't exactly like surfing in Mexico but it was darn nice.

..and now I'm back in the NW, 5/4 suit and all the other crap waiting for the next time the swell is a reasonable size for my meager skills.

I don't have any pics, but Salt Creek was insane yesterday. A foot or two overhead, clean all day.

I got to go from skiing good windbuff at Mammoth for four days to surfing epic Salt Creek, one of the reasons I love Socal.

Those waves are at three different spots, all down there in Southern California.

supermodel - nice shots! did you shoot to avoid crowds or were there no crowds?

No Xmas day surf for me this year (traveling to visit the fam), but the forecast for New Year's Day is starting to look like a good Northeaster for New England!!

    FRI - NE WINDS 20 TO 30 KT. SEAS 5 TO 8 FT...BUILDING TO 7 TO 10
FT IN THE AFTERNOON. RAIN WITH VSBY 1 TO 3 NM.

FRI NIGHT - N WINDS 25 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS TO 40 KT. SEAS 7 TO 10
FT. SNOW. VSBY 1 TO 3 NM.

SAT - NW WINDS 20 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 KT. SEAS 6 TO 9 FT.
    SNOW LIKELY.

SAT NIGHT - NW WINDS 25 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 KT. SEAS 7 TO
10 FT. A CHANCE OF SNOW.

    SUN - N WINDS 25 TO 35 KT. SEAS 8 TO 11 FT...SUBSIDING TO 6 TO
9 FT. A CHANCE OF SNOW.

Looks like the first good chance of 2010 to surf and even ski some fresh in the same day. Fingers crossed!
