    FS: 1973 Schwinn Paramount F/F

I am guessing this isn't the place to sell an old road frame but maybe subconsciously my logic is that nobody will buy it and I will be forced to keep it.

1973 P-13 with Joe Bell repaint. 56 x 56, only a few hundred miles since the restore. Great lugwork. Frame / fork only, $650 CONUS shipped.

A touch small for me and I have about 3 other projects going on at the moment.

    Damn.

I'd put it up on the serotta.com forum or the velocipede forum...probably the best places to find someone who would appreciate it(and snatch it up quick).

Way too small for me, unfortunately.

    I loved my Paramount.

Best of luck finding a new home for her.

She looks pretty nice! Those Nervex lugs sure are Purrty!
Are the fork tips and stays chromed under the paint?

I just scored a 74 Paramount in pretty rough shape.
I'm doing a slow restoration over the winter. I'm gonna send the frame to Waterford for the repaint/decals.

    Good luck selling.....

I have an issue with both of those forums. I end up spending large amounts of money everytime I go there to "sell" something. For instance, I went over to Serotta this morning and some guy is dumping a Colnago for supercheap so I sent him a PM. I just can't resist. At least at TGR I am largely immune to impulse purchases.

I loved my paramount that I had 20 yrs ago. Unfortunately it has been used to much as when I go to my parents house(it is my Dad's bike now) I can't ride it up a hill without the gears jumping on it because the frame is so worn out.

    ....???...

It's more likely those gears that are worn out.

Think he means out of the saddle climbing and lateral flex.

I am 6'3" and 215 lbs. I spent a whole year racing this bike and I put a lot of miles on it and especially steel frames they weaken to the point that it flexes laterally more than it did when it was new. It flexes so much that it will shift the gears if you put too much power into it. One of the reasons pros go through a few frames in a season.

    paramount

That's a beauty!. I once had an opportunity to buy a vintage paramount track bike for 500.00.... I didn't and I kick myself in the ass for it every time I think of it.

Sorry...I am aware of frame flex shiffting....I should have asked "Are you sure it's not just the gears worn out"....But either way, I didn't mean to insult you....I wasn't aware of your size and history.

Does it also have alot of rear wheel frame rub too?

No worries and didn't take it as an insult. No real wheel frame rub as the bike isn't that tight there.

    Hey, hey, heyyy..
I'm sure those stays are chromed under the paint and the lug where the head tube meets the top tube should have been left chromed as the original as well as the lug joining the down tube to the head tube..not to be picky or anything.
I know you know that, 1wsguy.

if this frame is still available, I am interested.
My Shwinn Paramount frame broke (where seat tube met bb), so I have all the parts, but no frame.
    Thanks,
