    VCT vs. VCT Turbo?

So, I got the VCT a la 07/08 182. I just got this year's VCT Turbo in 182.

Laid them next to each other, and I don't get what 4Frnt is talking about with this "mini-rocker", early rise action? The Turbo has the same tip and tail of the VCT, as far as I can tell. If there is a difference, it is ever so slight, but I just can't see it. There is a little less camber, that is it.

Anyone else had a chance to lay these down side by side and do a comparison? I love 4Frnt's skis as of late, just do not see the difference in this model.

I would hardly call it a rocker, only difference is it's flatter underfoot with VERY minimal early rise, fwiw I heard it does rip in the softer stuff...definately more geared towards east coast freshies imo bc of the narrower waist

Thanks...laid the VCT and the Turbo down next to each other again and can't see any difference in the rocker profile, or lack thereof in this case. Just too much overlap for me to hold onto both.

if you strap the skis together tightly midboot to exaggerate the rocker can you see a difference?

i love my 189 vcts and always thought adding rocker would make it badass in the deep... hopefully they can get this figured out.

4frnt would have a perfect 2 ski quiver with a stiffer vct and a rockered vct with similar rise to the first rockered seths (2 seasons ago?)

the turbo is flat camber. the vct is ~1cm of camber.

if you hold the bases flat to each other, the tip of the turbo opens about 5mm from each other. that is called rocker.

nope.. fondled the 182s at porters today and rumors are true. The camber on the turbo is around 1cm and pressing the bases together results in no rocker

Apparently not all VCT Turbos are the same then. Because I have fondled the new VCT Turbos that Marshal has in his shop and they are as he described. The few other pairs I have seen are the same.

That said, I agree that the difference between standard and turbo is pretty damn minimal.

I have a pair in 189. Unpressed they are basically flat, I wouldnt call it camber. If pressed together a small amount of tip rocker shows up. No tail rocker.
