Just went out and bought the mag, damn...I had to with all this talk. Funny, I think its one of the best "SKIING" issues ever done, even without all the cameos. The whole mountain shots of the Gnar sections are pretty cool.

    Well done, fellas!

Great maggot representation! Gotta say, I agree with skier666, this is probably one of the better, if not best issues Skiing has put together.

Love the shot of the Crystal backcountry

I haven't gotten my issue in the mail yet, but had to take a quick look through it at the grocery store today. It does look good! I like the big photo of the "Spanky's Ladder" accessed terrain at Blackcomb that tells you what everything is back there. I also saw one in there for KT-22 and I'm sure there are others as well.

And, oh yeah, congrats to the featured maggots!

karma: Who are you? Sammy skied directly under the chairlift off that (I don't even remember what size it was...15, 20 maybe? foot) cliff and stomped it. I was techinically supposed to be in the finals but they miscalculated a couple people's scores. Then again, Barci ran a pretty shady operation all around, as you obviously know with my semi's run, so I'm not surprised. The people I almost ran over were the head of marketing for White Pass and operations manager for 49 degrees North, and that's mostly why I got a second go at it.

Same drop as Ian Mcintosh then right? I had not heard that you actually scored over 30, and they fucked up. That's messed. Good news is that this year it will be a closed venue event, now if we can just get Barci an assistant who can add...

No, Ian had a unique line off the cliff that made it closer to 30 feet. He came in from the knife edge way up high and dropped across the fall line. Everyone else that was hitting the slightly smaller cliff just pointed it straight off the end and ollied over the 10 foot rock patch, heh -- the same cliff that JD backflipped for the Sick Bird award.
