Here's a luxury problem. So, I already wrote a post about how a friend invited me to stay at his brother's timeshare in Park City and I've been wondering whether I should go during Martin Luther King weekend or the one before. Now I have yet another question. I've realized that it's possible to go the entire week between the two weekends. My days off are somewhat limited, so here are my possible uses:
Option 1:
January - Utah - one long weekend;
February - Jackson - one week;
March - Utah - one long weekend
Option 2:
January - Utah - one long weekend;
February - Jackson - one long weekend;
March - Utah - one week
Option 3: January - Utah - one week;
February - Jackson - one week;
March - East Coast
Option 4:
January - East Coast;
February - Jackson - one long weekend;
March - Utah - one week
After an entire week of awful conditions in Whistler last March, I made a vow to go somewhere and at a certain time where I'd have the best shot at good conditions. That would probably be Utah in early March, right? How do I best allocate my days off in order to get the optimal combination of powder days, most amount of ski days, and minimal cost.
Option 1 involves ditching my friend from work (not a big deal to him) and gives me a chance to stay somewhere free for a few days, a diversity of time periods, and an entire week with a bunch o' maggots
Option 2 gives the same, but less time at the summit, plus an entire week
during the prime season in Utah
Option 3 gives a week of a free place to stay, one less plane ticket to buy,
and two less days flying, which equals two extra days skiing (back east)
Option 4 gives the same with Prime time in Utah, but east coast during crappy conditions and a crowded weekend (MLK weekend)
Umm, I say Jackson requires a whole week, because of the sheer awesomeness of it. plus it cost so much more to get up there you might as well do it for an entire week to make it worth while.
