Not local current conditions, more general background stuff about the Alpes particularly Northern in France through the Central to Tyrol in Austria. I'm enjoying Tremper's avalanche book but a lot of the examples given are specific to North American geography and it'd be great to have equivalent info for the euros. eg what are the prevailing winds in this area? Which areas get wet or dry snow most often? Any regional weather weirdness to be aware of? Obviously the avy skills and wisdom in the book can be applied anywhere but some more general info for this side of the pond would be great.
Is there any decent resource or writing online for the alpes? Anyone want to make a summary here?
