    Elan Mantis 999

Looks like the Mantis 999 which was rumored to be a 100mm waisted 777 is not going to be what at least I hoped for...

I'm kinda psyched about Elan's line this year. Might try and pick up some 666's if the opportunity presents itself. The metal rail-grind insert into the bases of their twins is a neat idea too.

    05/06 Northern line up:

Quite a bit has changed with Elan for next winter, the popular 444 and 555 will be gone, and replaced with a totally new ski called the 'magfire' which will be available in models 8, 10 and 12.
They are all 75mm under foot, and have the same Tyrolia bindings as this years models, the 12 2Ti is 116/76/102mm, the 10Ti is 125/75/109mm and the 8 is 125/75/109, then for the ladies there is a whole new range of skis, that fit into 3 catogories, the spice range, the pearl and the magic ranges, in each of the three ladies ranges there is 3 seperate models to pick from, therefore offering 9 models in total.
The spice are very bright with most of the colours you will find in a rainbow on the skis, and are entry level skis, the pearl will be the winner, with 70mm under foot and very good colours of either black, white or blue pearl graphics. then the high performance magic model that has what Elan call racing sidewall construction and dimensions like 110/65/97mm.
The rec retail prices, which may change with a fluctuating dollar, are Magfire 12 fusion $1499, the Magfire 10 fusion $1299, and the magfire 8 fusion $1099.
The ladies magic start at $1099, and the pearl are $899 for black, $799 for white pearl and only $499 for the blue pearl but on the blue model there is no fusion binding.
The spice start at $399 without a binding, quite a low price even for an entry level ski.

    Then the 'A' series.
The A08 Fusion is 112/70/98mm and sells for $899
    The A06 Fusion is 111/70/97 at $799
    The A04 doesn't come with a binding, and is 111/70/97 and $549
The A02 at 110/69/96mm and only $449 without a binding. the 'A' series look exceptional in the graphics department, and i am very pleased to announce that even after 3 days of testing all the Elans hardly showed any scratches, which was my only dissapointment with them last year.
The 'S' series is still around with the S12 Fusion, S10 Fusion and S8 Fusion being the same as this year.
The 'M' series all come without bindings, and are still called the M777, M666 and the new twin tip M02 Rail at $749 and has dimensions of 118/78/106.
Avoid employing unlucky people - throw half of the pile of resume's in the bin without reading them.
