Yes, the Frau is aware of my err... problem - she'd have to be insensate not to. She skis, but has no interest in spending any of her free time, precious little as it is, on the internet. She leaves that up to me... Good thing, too - SOMEONE needs to earn the money to feed my addiction!

MildBill makes me tell people I know him from "skiing." For all I know he's a snowlerblader...

I was a travel agent in Steamboat and this girl calls for a vacation. I picked her up at the airport, took here to the condo, got a BJ. She was supposed to stay for 6 days. 7 weeks later we headed to her place in NY and now we're married 7 years and have 5 year old twin girls. The twins love to ski and ride their bikes.

    Go ahead, date a maggette.

    Nice work.

I guess it's safe to say your wife doesn't read the board and you won't be bringing her to any get togethers?

Funny how things work out...Dan and i were good friends and ski buds only, for a long time. Then one night after a party he was being all super smooooov and wouldn't leave my house . I am so glad he didn't walk out the door that night. Well, he did, but hours later....

She doesn't have the energy to spend time on internet forums. Our girls leave her totally exhausted by the end of the day.

Get togethers - nah. She couldn't keep up. If anybody tells her I said that she'll kill me. She does still have the ability to outdrink me though.

When a chick logs onto the board calling herself 'Mrs Roo' I knew my luck was in.

yeah why go to bars when you can get internet stalkers here?

My wife is well aware of the board, no i have never tried to lure her in, she has read stories over my shoulder and hung out with a few mags. She likes the maggots, doesn't like to ski that much, but then again she has to work 9-5, I do enough skiing for both of us.

How do you answer questions like "How do you know so-and-so (Maggot)?". I usually answer "Skiing".
She knows about the board, Never tried to lure her in, I don't think she'd be able to sink down to our level.

Her: How do you know <insert maggot name>?
Me: I, uh, well he's one of the, er, people I know from the inter- um I have skied with. Maybe.
    Her: Internet board, eh?
    Me: uh, yeah.
Her: Does <insert maggot name> have a real name?
Me: umm, I would guess so.
Her: You don't know it, do you.
Me: No. But I've skied with them. I think.

My wife and I are complete opposites. She skied once in her life and hated it. She can't stand the cold, gets sick from driving in the mountains, loves the beach and summer. For me, hate the heat, hate summer, love the mountains, ski more than I work, and sleep with the window wide open in the winter. Is this a problem? Hell no. My wife and I are best friends and respect one another's differences to the fullest. She has met several maggots and considers them my "ski friends". No big deal.

My current GF is a non-maggette skier. It's great having a skiing GF who can keep up! Although she is not a zealot like me, she understands my zealotry, which is FANTASTIC.

As for this board--she thinks it's funny that I read the board here and have met fellow maggots. It's not hard since there are about 12,128,356 of us at Alta on a powder day, heh.

Plus, if I mention some random factoid, she knows to ask, "Did you read that on your little messageboard." Uhh....maybe?

And as for TGRMatch.com--it'd be a sausage-fest. For the women rippers, such a website would be like that Alaskan saying about guys up there--"The odds are good, but the goods are odd."

I've linked Mr Nohills before, and read thread to him, too. He's not as much of a ski freak as me, though.

How do you answer questions like "How do you know so-and-so (Maggot)?". I usually answer "Skiing".
I took Mr. Sprite to the Tahoe summit, and I believe he enjoyed hanging w/ the Mags. I think he felt a bit like the odd one out though...being a knuckledragger and all. But he's a good fellow, and just kind of goes w/ the flow. He's even game to go to the Utah mini in Dec, so he's either a glutton for punishment or he really does like the Mags.

He knows all about the board though, and sees me posting on it sometimes at home. I would not mind him posting here, but he's just not much of a message board person. He's actually severely dyslexic (though a brilliant guy)...and I am sure his posts would be quite interesting!

I'm sort of glad he does not post here because no doubt I'd have to proof it since he asks me to proof everything he types. And you know I'm busy enough posting up my little quips here & there.

i'm pretty severly dyslexic. lucky for me someone adopted an alias as my proofreader yesterday. maybe that alias could also offer his/her services to Mr. Sprite as well?

We both ski, mt. bike and post to these boards. In fact, we like almost all of the same things (even after knowing each other 21 years!). It makes things better! In fact, he's probably lurking here on the boards already!

Go for it! Date a maggette! We're really hot!
