Stunts are fun. And scary. But mostly fun.

Gary (non-maggot) riding into a loooong section of stunts:
The rollover from the same skinny bridge as above:
The bike pile. Note the first section Gary is on above in this pic. Turn left to the teeter to a 5-foot drop or turn right and go up to a massive corkscrew:
I really, really want to ownerize this stunt: the teeter to drop after a pretty long skinny approach. I could get my front wheel on the teeter, but it was already high enough off the ground that committing to it was freakin scary:
This was my favorite stunt that I actually cleaned twice: Sarlacc, named for the giant sandworm thing in Star Wars that Jabba tries to push Luke into. You can't see it in the pic, but there is a 20-foot-deep pit inside the curve of the ramp; lose your balance and you get eaten by the Sarlacc. There are logs and other nasty debris down inside of it so you really don't want to go in!

nice pics particle
More fucked up than a cricket in a hubcap
I want more.
More stunts pics!
I love big dumps.
Sweet! Cool stuff!
Hah OK more! I can't wait to get back up to this undisclosed location.JayFrizzo and his buddy Brian (other guy in the pics) have some videos and more pics, hopefully they'll post a couple good ones too.
Gary mini log ride:
Me on the mini stunt:
Uhh, who's goin' first? Frizz, Brian, Gary (L to R, 2 non-maggs)
The corkscrew - the other side from the teeter drop. It involved a skinny logride climb up to the top, then it was wide but VERY high off the ground and ya would NOT want to fall inside the screw...ouch. Gary rode it from the top cleanly.

those are sweet! I'd be interested in knowing what kind of land are those built on (private, BLM, forset service, etc.)?
LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WANT TO GO AGAIN!!!! I'm feeling pretty good (ripped UPS a new one this weekend, passed some motorcycles at full speed going downhill about 1/2 way down Porcupine, felt REALLY good). I'm pretty sure I know where you are playing but I would like to go with you guys. Thinking about Grafton / Gooseberry Mesa this weekend, Moab next weekend, Bootleg Canyon / Redbull weekend after that, anyone in?

Sweet Mr. AG! Glad the knee is feeling good
We're planning on hitting the stunts again this weekend...probably Sat but hell maybe both days. I'm not sure about out of town trips, probably won't make those but possibly the red bull weekend...
I'll give you a call as the weekend gets closer!
p.s. and Hev those are on Nat'l Forest land. Not quite legal...but people with the ability to tear them down know about them and have been turning a blind eye. However some loner guy with his dog was recently caught destroying a couple of the stunts and was chased into the forest by a mob of PO'd freeride bikers. He hasn't been back fortunately.
I'm out of town this weekend but will be up for it next weekend (weekend of our partay). How about hitting the stunts in the morning and slaying some Salmon in the afternoon? Assuming there's no snow.
J-
hev - I made a mistake; I actually found out most of these are on private, mining co. land - they don't care nearly as much as the forest service would so they pretty much leave 'em be...
Nice pics, keep up the good work. And I hope you own all the stunts out there soon. They look like a blast.
A gay-rage full of toys. You can guess em.
I am very happy to report that as of today, the skinny-to-teeter-to-drop have been OWNERIZED!![]()

Also rode the corkscrew twice, altho I never cleaned the logride up to it...that thing is freaking crazy but fun.
Mucho fun riding w/ Mr. Altagirl, Rotney, and Gary today. Pics forthcoming...but no digi so we'll have to wait for them to be developed on disk.
Grrrr. Nice job, Particle. There better not be snow up there next Saturday.

Sorry dood, this statement sickens me. Even Telephil, the man who quit skiing in feb. to ride his bike, wants it to snow.Originally Posted by jayfrizzo

Thanks Jay! Impressive you're posting from Joeja!
If you're talkin' about I-Street...not anywhere in the neighborhood as difficult/tech as the above! If'n yer talkin about sumpin diffrent I ain't heard about...I wanna hear about it!Originally Posted by flykdog
And re: the snow comment--I'm with Frizz here b/c when we get snow in Oct., and it sticks around a few weeks before another storm, you get a Colorado-style depth hoar layer for a good chunk of the season. I'd rather it be delayed and then be full-on winter with plenty of good dumps so we get a solid snowpack. That said, I did try on some boots today and am feeling the stoke for the season coming on in full force!![]()
p.s. yeah sorry JF - looks like you're gonna have to hit the I-Stree drops pre-party on Sat.
And re: my last comment - if it snows looks like it's gonna stick around! word!

Fun ride today, can't wait to hit that trail again at 100%. NOTE: do not ride North Shore style trails as you are "taking it easy"; if you can't ride aggressively with a clear head, stay on the bike path. On a more positive note, Particle ripped it up, nice job.

I too, am physicallly incapable of "just going out and taking it easy." I think it's a form of brain damage.Originally Posted by Mr. Altagirl

Flyk--can't wait to see the pics. I've heard rumors of some stuff in Logan Cyn...is this what you speak of?Originally Posted by flykdog
Not Logan, closer to Ogden. I don't think these pics really do it justice. We could easily work these into a day of riding/shuttleing. Be warned, some of these are at least 20 ft off the ground. I don't have a pic of the teeter.

edit: whoa, that 1st pic sucks. there is alot of stuff that is more "doable" but it was kinda dark in there and these turned out.
Damn flyk, looks fun. Not sure about the nailing into the live trees though (at least it looks like that's what was done). And why make a drop onto flat? Don't people know that sucks?
Next assignment: pics of the Utards on those stunts.
