Thumbs up Its coming to end... or is this the beginning?

I'll I can say is holy balls. Today my life changed, for the better. As some of you may know, I have been applying for some fire department positions in different Montana cities. Well, last Monday I had an interview with the a fire department in NW Montana. It went very well, in fact, I smoked it.

Today, I had the final interview with the chiefs. Guess what?..........I got the job and accepted this afternoon. This has really been my life long dream.

What a crazy path life has taken me for. From a brush monkey with the Forest Circus to a Cube Jockey for a software company. That was new and uncharted ground. Who would have ever thought that you could go from runing a chainsaw to running a keyboard. Over the past 4 years it has been Office Space to the "t". I tripped out on the corporate environs every day. My blood has always carried the blue collar tinge, never could accept the whiteness that tthe man tried to put on me.

I've made teh decision to go with my new career, a firefighter with one of the best departments in the state. I can't believe it!!!!!!! I am so pumped, and nervous at the same time. This basically means that I have to move. i HAVE to leave and start a new chapter of life. I have been so comfortable in Bozeman, but now its time. Move on. One bummer is t aht i will move away from the computer. Over the next few weeks, I'll be slowly weening myself off this board.

I am shit housed at th emoment and can't sleep. Dream s of fire and smoke will fill my ehad tonight as I hit the pillow. Man, the world has a crazy things of makign things happen. I feel like i just won the lottery D:

So what does it all mean Bazzle? IT MEANS THAT I'LL BE SKIING A SHIT LOAD! as soon as pass rookie training. I'm gonna rip the shit out of my new mountains.........look out Snowbowl and Lost Trail, you are about to get slashed !

    Any other firefighters?

Nice, congrats. Score on the fat 20yr. service retirement too.

You'll be hanging in Bitterroot valley, Blodgett Canyon, skiing BC in the Mission Range. Hamilton is a kick ass little town.

Have fun in your new land.

Congratulations on realizing a dream of yours. That's always cool.

I may well be relocating myself...back to good 'ol BZN. It'd be great to be back, I give it a 75% chance of happening. Pretty stoked on that.

What's BZN? Bozeman? The nearest airport is in Belgrade... Am I supposed to know what these things mean? I dwell on it over too many beers already.

werd guy. that's ballsy. I too have given up the cubicle lifestyle and right now...well...not RIGHT now...cuz I'm hungover...but anyways I'm trying to get a job in my new home in SoCal to become a harbor patrol trainee. Grew up sailing and powerboating and fishing so I got the boat part down...it's the patrol part I have no experience with so I'll have to take EMT, basic law enforcement and firefighting classes. I have zero experience with that stuff. Anyways, your story is inspiring for me. I hope all goes well for ya and I hope I get this job!

    Congratulations on livin the dream.

KBZN = International airport indentifier for Bozeman/Belgrade. The 'K' at the beginning means it's in the US, and the BZN is the city.

Yes, it shows my dorkiness, but then again I've heard a great many maggots refer to Portland by its identifier, PDX.

Okay, non-dork translation - I'm probably moving back to Bozeman, and getting out of the Air Force. The time is ripe to pursue educational opportunities (teacher's certificate, slutty ed-major chicks, and my Master's degree), and I really really really miss the skiing. It'd be nice to get some skiing in again, with less responsibilities than I had last time I was there (and more time to ski), before I get too old.

Yes, the skiing in the PacNW is fantastic, but every job I can do out here in the AF involves a lot of travelling and not much time here in the winter.
