    Question Internet Escrow Service...anyone (NSR)

I'm still exploring the digital video camera market...some deals out there...but i'm a little scared about sending $1500 to someone i've never met. One seller recommended this website, http://www.escrow-st.com/index.php Anyone have any experience or insight? Thanks

I like the thought of escrow for such a purpose, so long as funds are not released until the goods have been inspected and deemed worthy. Sounds like what you'd do with a Letter of Credit, sorta.

Be really careful, I got scammed once on a video camera on EBay and, since I paid on credit card, got my money back, but it was a long and ugly process....

I think the escrow is a great idea, I wish I'd used it...

Escrow service is the way to go. Do your homework on the actual company doing the intermediary work first though.

Probably depends on your credit card company. At work we bought some stuff online (not ebay) that turned out to be crap, complained to the seller and got a "tough luck no refunds". Called the credit card company - the only thing we had to do was write a letter with the details and that was that. Credit card company refunded it.

Good news....i found out before it was too late that the escrow site i was about to use is a fraud. If anyone else is going to use internet escrow check this page first http://sos4auctions.com there are lists of bad sites on here, pretty crazy really. It sounds like escrow.com is really the only safe one. Thanks everyone for your help.

For the expensive items (like bikes) that I've bought on e-bay, I just waited until I found one in a location I could arrange a pickup from and did the transaction in person.
