    What do you think?

    Ok,

I have about $500 worth of credit at REI that I can use online. I wish I could cash it out, but I can't. So, since I'm poor and don't really need new skis, i figured I might buy some skis and try to sell them. What do you think would be my best plan of action keeping highest resale value (for new skis) in mind.

    K2 Apache Chief: 569
    Made'n AK: 599
    Seth Pistol: 599
    MoShip Flite:449

    Fujative:299
    Public Enemy:379
    Line Chronic:449
    1080: 499
    Scratch FS: 399

I picked these skis because I can't put out too much of my own cash for say, B3s, which are $729. I think if I order them online and have them shipped to the store, it's free and there is no tax in OR.

By the way, if anyone wants to buy this credit (gift card) from me for a discount, or if you're interested in one of these skis and was gonna buy it at REI anyway, let me know.

I'm hoping to get a job soon so I can just keep the skis and mount them with my freerides. Any suggestion for a good AT setup. I could also get Teledaddies for $529 (they don't sell sugars or bigs). I also wouldn't mind the MoShips, but I they dont' sell the titaniums, only the flites, anyone know if there is a big drawback for the flites?

    Thanks.

I'm not so sure your going to get any more money for those skis than what you have to pay for them to begin with. Anyone can buy the Pistols and Maidens for $599 just about anywhere. You may be able to get more for them if you wait till Jan. to sell them.
Not sure how REI works, but you could try buying something with the card and then returning it in hopes of getting cash back. I know Gart's did that for me.

Why can't you buy something online for $500 then return it to a branch of REI receive $500 refund? Everyone else does!

The moship flight is lighter, cheaper, and less stiff than the titanium. It doesn’t have the titanium sandwich around the wood core but does have some carbon fiber strands that are supposed to make it snappy. I demoed both and preferred the titanium. The Line rep was trying hard to sell me on the how the flights are better for popping off jumps and spinning etc. They might be cool for a more jib oriented ride.

Without a receipt REI only will give credit, no cash.

Well if you were to buy 04-05 189 SPs, I'd try to buy them from you for 500, but you still lose 100 bucks or so on the deal, so I don't see how it benefits you.

Why not get 500 bucks worth of camping stuff? Or bike shit? Or climbing gear? You could buy a lot of cool toys for 500 smackaroos.

It benefits me because I didn't pay anything for the credit. I returned something I got free. I was going to use it for myself, but the money is tight and I could use it. So if you gave me $500 for some SPs, that'd be $500 buck in my pocket. So, PM me if you are interested.

Just FYI, I have seen the Maidens and Pistols for sale at $509 at Tri-City Sports in Fremont, CA. But then again, they usually have the cheapest prices at the start of the season anyway. My point, you may find them for the same price at other places as well.
