    Attention Maggots

Many of you know of a maggot supported season I had a few years ago and again I thank all of you that helped along the way. That trip led to a job at Alta for the last two seasons. Anyway back to the point, I have a pair of 189 seth pistols with skins but no bindings. They are in perfect condition and I have decided to give them away for free-I would like to pass them off to someone who is in serious need of skis and other wise doesn't have the means to aquire such boards. Many of you helped me and now I'm in a position to help someone else-so please pass on anyone you think might need the boards.

How thoughtful! What a great idea.

Hey, doesn't Max need a pair?

Everyone has skis on this board and probably lots of them, so I say you have a contest!

    First, this is fantastic.

Second, I'd say that a writing contest, to be judged primarily on the level of desperation, would be fun... I've heard some desperate stories on here, and do all have fun laughing at other's misfortune...
    It's idomatic, beatch.

too lazy to look right now but wasnt there a "my boys amovin to the Vail area and cant afford crap, any suggestions?" thread a while back? seems this would be a good thing for such a young man and much in the spirit of your beginnings in ski country

Give them to AKPM... he would be so happy. I would say he may be the most deperate (for skis and other things) of all the posters on this board. That kid deserves em!

I agree with splat, paying it forward is a very good deed. I see many powder filled lines in your future.

No everyone does not. Me. However I have another generous Maggot sending me a pair of boards for the cost of shipping. Mr. Gotz is one stand up maggot!!

I hope whoever get these will cherish them like I will on the Chubbs that are coming. Yes, Chubbs. I need to learn the zen of pow.

These would be too big for the like of me anyway.

    Nice move Easy!!

That's hard to believe. There are people on a skiing chat room that do not own one pair of skis?

Cool easy. I'd go with whoever can come up with the most desperate story as to why they deserve such a generosity. Not only do they get new boards they badly need, but we can sit back and laugh/cry at the poor shlubs as we read of their plight.

Word. I can't think of another maggot that would be more stoked than AKPM.

what about someone still skiing around on dumpster'd straight skis or nearly straight? i bet there's a mag or two that's still kickin skinny, unshaped boards.

If there's anyone still riding on the neon watermelon pink and green straight skis from ... '91? 90? ...they get my vote for the pistols, hands down. and no fair goin out and finding a pair. additionally, i'll personally mail them a pair of older but not half bad T2's for the cost of shipping if they want to ride em tele.

I do not need the skis. But my best friend DOES.

Devin and I grew up racing together at Mtn. High(SoCal) and have always spent a bunch of days at mammoth every year(me about 50 Dev about 30).

Last year Devin moved to Pennsylvania for a year, his family had to move there because his dad got transfered. He came out to California for one week to ski Mammoth(5 days) and Mtn. High(2days). That's all he skied last year. 7 days! From 120/year to 7! not good.

He just moved back here to SoCal and is psyched to start the season. Only problem is for the last 4 years he has had only one pair of skis. 170 Head "airheads" the black ones. These skis sucked from day one, but Dev got 'em for $100 and it was all he could afford and he never gripes about them. He weighs 195 and is about 6'2'', so obviously, he is waaaayyyy too big for these sticks.

In addition to being too small/flimsy(pocket rockets would seem stiff) he's missing a couple of inches of edge on one ski,and has compressed the edge on the other.

Devin needs these skis. He will be skiing mammoth alot this year, and it will definitely suck on those old shitty skis.

Last year I let him use my sp's, while I used his shit slingers. I could not believe how hard it was to ski on the airheads, he could not believe how great it felt to be on a decent ski.

He would buy some skis himself, but he is goin' to college(just increased tuition 28%) and helpin his family out with bills.

While not a Maggot yet, He is one at heart. A generous guy who will definitely pay it forward as soon as he can.

Please let Devin have these skis!!!

Werd, Skip. I think he's deserving, for sure, but I don't think this should be open to non-mags as of this date/time because then it becomes second hand stories, etc. Just my $.02!
