Damn, thats some fat action. I've eyed it but never ran it. You can check this

    http://www.americanwhitewater.org/rivers/id/559/

THE RUN: Lower Mesa Falls is great park and huck spot. The usual line is the river left side. It is like a 20 ft. fall into a pool that leads into a 45fter, Although i don't think it is that high. The sign says 65ft total drop, the first is definately around 20ft, and the second i'd say is 30-35ft. Its pretty sick and the right side has been run, you can see the descents of the right in the opening scene of Valahalla, and No Big Names. MAKE sure that you bring your camera! Below it is mild and easy, see G. Amaral, Idaho: the Whitewater State (Watershed, 1992). The Lat / Longitude data are approximate. Alternate takeout: US 191-20 near Ashton (9 mi. downstream of Warm R.)

There is also a write up in Montana Surf.

And I think there are some photos on TGR too, yep here - http://www.tetongravity.com/track/030702h2o.htm

    Small World

    UrbanKayaker,

    Whats up from Jackson...
Small world, noticed your post, and put it together. We went and looked at Mesa Falls on Sunday, and declined. After my head basher in the kitchen sink, I wasn't feeling too courageous! We had a good time thanks for the beta and the company. By the way it was a 20 foot drop into a mean hydraulic by the time we got to the bar.LOL

    Yepper,

The safe line was in the center, I took the left line..oops Mild broach sp?, just enough to kill any momentum I had, dropped into a shallow hole, got flipped, head pounded rocks first two roll attempts, then came up, still in hole, climbed to the corner and escaped bleeding about the head. Wasn't that big of a deal, just made me get around to fitting my helmet a little better, LOL. All part of the game. UrbanKayaker showed us the best line, I just didn't hit it, it was actually pretty easy 4, I'm just a jong, Fun trip, nice run. Thanks UK

Oh shit man... it would've made that even more epic if you were drunk, the rafting standard, with the token "whoopin' n' a hollerin'"
