the first show on the beginings of rap was tight, after that the show started to blow.
Their all the way into the Biggie /Tupac thing & have not even mentioned a tribe called quest?
please
i've missed the last two nights, but it doesn't seem like i'm missing much. i love seeing the old bambaata, kool herc, boogie down, style wars type stuff, but everything after the 80s is boring.
fine
I caught the end of the NWA part and all of BIG and Pac which was pretty sweet. I don't own any Tupac but I think he's a pretty tight MC...or...was I guess. Didn't know his mother was a black panther. From the description of his parents it's definitely more obvious why he was the way he was and why his songs were the way they were.
Biggie I think is incredible, total mastery of lyrics. It was kind of odd to hear that guy talk about how the rap persona takes over the actual person which is what happened with Biggie Smalls. I mean he came from a pretty loving, sturdy family and all his rhymes are about being poor and hustling coke and shit.
No mention of Tribe is kinda beat since they and all the L.O.N.S. people had a good thing going, but the east/west rivalry between death row/snoop/pac and biggie/puffy dink daddy and bad boy and whatnot makes bigger headlines. though I hear that Tribe is coming out with a new album?? anybody know about this?
edit: I missed all the shows before last night which is a bust. Huge fan of Run DMC, Erik B and Rakim....
thats new hampshire as fuck
