Got my flight to Jackson on Delta Sky Miles. Trip there is smooth. Leaving at 7 am, arriving in Jackson at 12:30 pm. No problem. Flight home sucks. 6:10 am departure to Salt Lake, then fly to LA, then to Tampa- WTF? Anyone have luck changing their flight with Sky Miles half way through the trip? I am thinking that even if it costs me $50 to change the itinerary, it is worth it. Will this work?

Either way, it is free, so I took it. I will figure it out later.

Not sure with Delta, but I know with United, changes to reward travel is free provided you do so before you begin travel. Once travel has started however, no changes to the itenerary are allowed.

Try changing the return itinerary as you get closer - sometimes airlines free up unsold seats for Frequent Flier travel. I've done this succesfully on Air New Zealand, United & Northwest (with the Northwest travel occuring on Delta flights) Changes to the FF itinerary are free on most (all?) airlines, they'll charge you $75-$100 if you want to cancel the trip and have the miles credited back to your account.

Yeah, looks like I am flying all day on the 10th. The flight from LA to Tampa is on Song, so at least I get TV the whole way home. I should be pretty wiped out anyway. 5 days straight skiing tends to kick my ass these days.
