I love some of the totally ignorant responses people make. It shows to me absolutely no responsibility of what comes out of there mouth.

Haliburton, was Cheney also up to no good when the Clinton adminstration awarded a no-bid contract to Haliburton for the Serbian-Bosnian-Kosovo crisis. I am not sure but I don't think there are too many other companies out there that can do what Haliburton does so maybe that could be why they got those contracts?

For those that think Bush is moron and a stooge. To paraphrase Sun Tzu a writer on the arts of war 300-400 BC know yourself and know your enemy and you will win every time. It is obvious to everybody that Bush is a terrible speaker, but that does not translate to being an idiot. As far as being a stooge, to any of you who really believe it, you don't know how people really work. For Bush to be a stooge you would have to say that he has no ego at all.

The only thing that really bothered me about the debate is Edwards and also Kerry's total lack of education on the military. Some of the facts that both of them are saying are totatlly false.

Kerry's total lack of education on the military.
yeah, well I'd say what's going on now is far from "winning".

you don't think he learned anything by actually being in the military? bush's education on the military is confined to a few rounds of Stratego.
    fine

Have you read anything on his military record. I have personally too many damn officers that I wouldn't let wipe my ass much less run this country. Although I haven't met him in person from what I have seen and read no he didn't learn a thing.

Kerry wants to raise anywhere from 40000 to 75000 troops and double special forces troops to fight the war on terror. Do you know how long it would take to get them into the war on terror trained to the quality of the troops we got now?

Brett--Just curious...did you hear your boy Rumsfeld yesterday state that there was no tie between al Quaeda (terrorists) and Iraq before the war? I ask because it seems like said "hotbed of terrorism" would have such a tie. I suppose you'll make the tired argument of some sort of financial hotbed, right? So why aren't we occupying Saudi Arabia, then?

    For reference:

"Why the intelligence proved wrong (on WMDs), I'm not in a position to say," Rumsfeld said in remarks to the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. "I simply don't know."

When asked about any connection between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda, Rumsfeld said, "To my knowledge, I have not seen any strong, hard evidence that links the two."

i don't see how you consider bush competent in all the areas that you're so critical of kerry in. i'm not implying that kerry is the answer, but i'll take him over the chimp anyday.

I have liked what I have seen. Yes everything has not gone perfect, but nothing every does. Hindsight is a bitch, but at the time they have made the best decision possible. Do you think that if Saddam Hussein was involvedwith 9/11 that he would have any solid ties to it? He would have been a total idiot to do that. It took us 6yrs before Japan first had democratic elections. It will take a long while before this will calm down. The marines are planning on fighting the war on terror for 20yrs.

Every book I have read so far has mentioned Iraq as being involved in funding terrorism and most of them were written before 9/11. If you don't believe me go start reading about it. Kerry is not much different than Clinton and he is responsible for a lot of this terrorism mess. This war should of started being fought at least 10 yrs ago if not longer.

So did anyone notice that this debate was much more informative, than last weeks. They actually discussed the issues, I thought Edwards did a good job of pointing out what shrub did and did not do vs what he promised, Dick had good points of his own.

    <vent>
The thing that pissed me off was listening to the post debate reporting, with the usual fucktards analyzing it, they seemed to be in agreement that the debate was 'dry'/plain/boring.. WTF, if I want drama I'll watch the OC or something, fucktards..

agreed. I think theyre just pissed noone had a bad sound bite. I thought it was an excellent discussion which left me wondering why Cheney isnt the prez. Edwards needs to focus on raising his what, 5 year old kids? And not on being hired for a job he is ENTIRELY not qualified for.

And Bush was qualified to be pres before the last election? Please....The same criticisms were raised against Bush as are being raised against Edwards. Were you saying the same about Bush last election? Probably not...

On balance, I am uncomfortable with Bush and the optional Iraq war so I want him replaced. But Cheney spanked Edwards last night in my opinion. Edwards was just spiting campaign trail rhetoric and didn’t seem to have a grasp of any issues nor did he answer the questions. He couldn’t stop talking about Kerry’s last debate (which Kerry won). Overall, I wasn’t impressed with him.

    Kerry 1 Bush 0
    Edwards 0 Cheney 1
