    NSR: Enviornmental Plea/SPAM, but good..

    Dear NRDC BioGems Defender,

It's high time that America got the unvarnished truth about President Bush's
giveaway of our public lands to oil, coal and timber interests.

And beginning this week, millions of Americans will start hearing the truth --
if you'll help us run a hard-hitting television ad made by Robert Redford for
    the NRDC Action Fund.

You can view the Redford ad and help get it on the air by going to
    https://www.nrdcactionfund.org/redfordtvad/donate.asp

This compelling TV spot reveals how big industry gave millions of dollars to
elect President Bush -- and how he's paying them back with permission to drill,
log and destroy some of our most beautiful western landscapes.

Once you view the ad, I know you'll want to see it broadcast as widely as
possible over these next critical weeks.

Congress is preparing to vote on budget bills that will fund more of President
Bush's plans -- plans that would unleash chainsaws, bulldozers and drilling
rigs in Greater Yellowstone, the Alaskan Rainforest, Utah's Redrock canyons and
    fragile Arctic wildlife habitats.

The only way to stop this onslaught is to reach out to the vast majority of
Americans who oppose carving up our natural heritage for corporate profit.

Won't you help us do that?

The NRDC Action Fund has begun airing the Redford ad in three key states where
public lands are being ravaged by President Bush's policies: Colorado, New
    Mexico and Oregon.

Now we need your immediate financial support to blanket other crucial states
with the truth about the White House-sponsored attacks on our natural heritage.

    Please go to https://www.nrdcactionfund.org/redfordtvad/donate.asp
to watch the Redford ad. After you do, I urge you to make an online donation
that will help us broadcast this powerful message to millions more Americans.

Together, let's make our voices heard and demand that this president and this
Congress stop the destruction of our last and best wild places.

    Sincerely,

    John H. Adams
    President
    NRDC Action Fund

P.S. Because every penny we raise goes to mobilizing the public and lobbying
Congress, your gifts to the NRDC Action Fund are not tax-deductible.

Those corporations are somehow worse than this?

    http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_b...ial_data_.html

    just curious.

Because it's not the money that is the problem is it? It's the fact that it went to Bush? correct me if I'm wrong.

Take a look at who funds and how much is given to liberal 527's.

gyptian, not disputing your argument: that corporations, etc give equally to Dems as they do Repubs, etc. No doubt about it. Both parties become inevitably (sp) corrupt by the $ they accept and the access they grant for that $.

BUT, the Bush Administration is perhaps the most blatantly brazen of any. They have continually granted drilling/logging/road building rights to companies that have donated $. Bush and Cheney are from the gas and oil industry for christs sake. Even when local sentiment/people werre against the BLM or NFS opening up lands to drilling/logging/exploration (think a long the Tetons, in MT, and parts of the front range in CO), this administration ignored the people and instructed the BLM/NFS to move ahead with plans to make these lands available to these corporations. Against the local populace. AND, many of thse lands were granted protection under the last administration, and now these have been overturned (again, against the locals desire).....

Threatening local habitat and the enviornment, etc. This has caused both hunters and enviornmentalists to join forces in MT, ID, CO, and WY.

I don't dispute the fact that both parties accept $, grant favors and are generally corrupt. But this administration has gone too far....

As a skier, I think you might put your ideology a side for once and examine this issue with clear eyes.

On an interesting note, Cheney has been fined on multiple occasions for 'showing off' and taking a military helicoptor and buzzing the Snake River and other various parts of Jackson. Some friends who live in Jackson have said that the raft guides, etc.. are fed up with the ultra-low flybys. Anyone got more info on this from Jackson?

Not that any other politician or person of power/money wouldn't do this for corporate donors, but I guess it's been a regular occurrence in Jackson.

And yeah, I agree with those on the corporate donations- both parties see huge amounts. But no other administration has ever been charged with creating such an anti-environmental push. To think that Bush would hold a press conference in the National Parks last year, only to slice funding and then offer up the National Forests to corporations. And Mr G., living in Colorado, I'm sure you've heard the name Gayle(?) Norton before. Why would Bush tap a person with one of the most revered anti-enviornment records to head the BLM? Yes, to create loopholes. When I lived in CO, there was a lot of critcism on her (and none of it very positive).

Just another reason why it is imperative that even if you don't like the democratic party, you must vote for Kerry! I know, Kerry is a douchebag, but we must withdraw our support from Nader for this one electio so Bush isn't elected again!

    And here's another 525 Reasons

Ha ha, Blurred. Whatever. I don't have the time to keep up with stupid crap like that. Maybe you could use a brush up, though, on how your admired Bush Admin is screwing up this country.
