In short the Tabla's are very close if not equal (I personally think they're equal) in smearability and floaty-feel. They are equally playful but in kinda different ways, the Spatula wanting to be skied in every other way than straight ahead whereas the Tabla is more of a speedy-but-slash-like-a-snowboard-able tool. I can throw the Tablas sideways and smear it as easy as the Spatulas, but not all the way around due to the Tabla's lack of twintip. For newschooly flippy/spinny/onsnow360ish stuff the Spatula may have an edge (well, it does have 2) but as a bigmountain specialist the Tabla rules due to it's more directional stability and safer feel a speed as the tail supports/controls better. Overall range and perfomance in less-than-ideal conditions is heavily in favour of the Tabla.Originally Posted by Evil E

Hmmm. The only place I dont like the spatula is on flats / catwalks. I like twintips to manuever backwards without jamming up my tails on steep techy sections. However, the carbon construction/lightweight is very tempting. I guess you could probably AT on this ski?
Anyone else have an opinion?
I have a pair of Spats, which I love to death, but....
If I could have the same amount of smear and non-linear turn shape, and still CARVE....I would throw down.
Put another way. If the TR has a Spatula-like tip, ("long tip rocker" as they call it), and a sinkable tail, it could well be the Holy Grail.
Not to mention that one could actually tour on them....
You should check out the Sanouk then.Originally Posted by the_eleven

I like big bikes and I cannot lie. You other brothers can't deny
good thing he's wearing his pieps, that cornice could go at any moment.
Actually I'd be more worried about the roof... The other day, I saw a massive amount of shingles slide of a house across the street. The debris would have buried any normal man. I'm always beeping when I'm outside now.
