In short the Tabla's are very close if not equal (I personally think they're equal) in smearability and floaty-feel. They are equally playful but in kinda different ways, the Spatula wanting to be skied in every other way than straight ahead whereas the Tabla is more of a speedy-but-slash-like-a-snowboard-able tool. I can throw the Tablas sideways and smear it as easy as the Spatulas, but not all the way around due to the Tabla's lack of twintip. For newschooly flippy/spinny/onsnow360ish stuff the Spatula may have an edge (well, it does have 2) but as a bigmountain specialist the Tabla rules due to it's more directional stability and safer feel a speed as the tail supports/controls better. Overall range and perfomance in less-than-ideal conditions is heavily in favour of the Tabla.

Hmmm. The only place I dont like the spatula is on flats / catwalks. I like twintips to manuever backwards without jamming up my tails on steep techy sections. However, the carbon construction/lightweight is very tempting. I guess you could probably AT on this ski?

    Anyone else have an opinion?

I have a pair of Spats, which I love to death, but....

If I could have the same amount of smear and non-linear turn shape, and still CARVE....I would throw down.

Put another way. If the TR has a Spatula-like tip, ("long tip rocker" as they call it), and a sinkable tail, it could well be the Holy Grail.

Not to mention that one could actually tour on them....

Actually I'd be more worried about the roof... The other day, I saw a massive amount of shingles slide of a house across the street. The debris would have buried any normal man. I'm always beeping when I'm outside now.
