i tore my left ext oblique from the inguinal ligament. hurt like a sonofabitch.
my only advice is to avoid raking leaves, or in your case in fairbanks, shoveling snow, and above all take a brake from snowboarding if that is your gig. if it's truly torn, almost anything can aggravate it.
this injury can happen in the sports hernia injury (sometimes it is part of the complex injury syndrome called sports hernia). it's no fun so i have lots of sympathy for you. beer and rest then get it looked at again.
Thanks for the sympathy, but beer isn't helping, its so sensitive having a full belly is unbearable. Its okay I need to drop a few before the season anyways. I just want to be 100% asap.
loon if it doesn't get better you should get an ultrasound test with a GOOD and EXPERIENCED sports med doc. if they say it's not torn yet you still have nasty pains then get checked for a sports hernia.
