What county? I would get a lawyer and go to court. I got a 6 pt speeding ticket (78 in a 55) dropped to 2 pts just for showing up in court. I didnt get a lawyer because my record was still relatively clean at that point.

I just found out I scammed the system this spring when I got my new license and now have a completely clean record. Just let your license expire and get a new one in a different state... I went to get new insurance today and was just waiting for them to pull up my driving record and tell me what the damage was... nothing. It's like 5 years of reckless driving never happened!

I got just about the same thing a few years ago - 75 in a 55 in Garfield Co.

You can gamble and claim "not guilty." They say that the chances of the cop showing up for a speeding ticket is slim, although I'd bet s/he would show up for a 6 point ticket.

I sucked it up and paid. (To top it off, I had let my insurance expire without realizing it. Fortunately, I was in a company truck during work hours and covered by my company's insurance, so the cop couldn't fine me for that. Unfortunately, my personal insurance found out about the ticket that I got while technically uninsured with them, and f'ing rammed my ass. I shopped around for a better deal, and still got an ass pounding. )

If you pay quickly (I forget what the deadline is), they'll drop 2 points immediately. If you sign up for a class, you get another 2 points dropped. However, the classes are usually more expensive then paying off the ticket.

I can't help you beyond that. I don't know of any nifty back ways to get out of the ticket or anything. Sorry, dude.
