I don't remember how Rossis measure against K2's, but my 167 Phat Luvs are almost the same length as 175 pocket rockets when you hold them next to each other. So I'm guessing the 153s are more like 157 or so in reality...
All my other skis are 178s or 180s (I'm 5'8"), but I wanted the Phat Luvs shorter because they were going to be my tree specific/tight terrain skis. They work great for that and I ended up using them for more of an all-purpose ski than I expected (fun on groomers and in open powder too). I think if she's used to skis in the 150-160 range, they'll probably be just fine, especially if she'll be in the trees most of the time. If she wants something for going fast in open bowls or super deep or something, she'd probably want something longer, but you could always go for just a big really fat ski for that. Normally I'd say she should demo them to figure out what's best, but a deal's a deal - and I've thought I'd like the same ski in different lengths for different purposes. Since they're in the range of what she normally skis, I'd go with it...
Hope that helps!

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"
