The Great Icicle is looking like a truncated river...
Johnny's only sin was dispair
Since the bird closed yesterday I figured I would go up and see if this was still skiable...
It skied surprisingly smooth even with the few inches of mank from the other day. 10:30 was just about right, on east aspects arround 10k. The chute itself was in great shape with very good coverage, although the entrance off the top is questionable.

sweet. I was wondering if it was still ski-able. i've been looking at it the past few days on the Bird cam. how was the hike out? mostly rock now?
I just booted straight up it since it looked so boney to get in from the top.

10am Main Chute June 19th. Perfect corn. Walk 100ft to the car.

Cold Fusion is doneso... Unless you enjoy a 100 meter rock/dirt section in the middle. Decent hard corn in the top half and better corn, but some suncups in the lower half + gully a little after lunch time. Main Chute would have been easier and probably better today, but it doesn't involve mountain bikes so...

Happy Days up in Wolverine. Lots of Snow but disappearing fast.
Approach from Brighton in Hiking shoes to top of Millicent chair. From this point there is a good amount of snow around the twin lakes area and there was a route to skin into the belly of the Wolverine Cirque. We hiked up and around Wolverine Peak, then each chose a shot to ski.
My buddy Jared - Bombay Chute
Me - Just observers right of there (tighter line) name?????? Maybe tit-for tat
Anyhoo, skiing was great. A slight breeze kept the mank to a minimum and we were able to ski down to the lake and then walked back to the car.
All in all not a bad day skiing in June.
There were two others that skied Wolvi via Patsy Marley this day as well. Mags???
^ hey spread eagle did you by chance look to see how much snow was left on Tuscarora?...was thinking about hitting that soon if possible..

hey tyfalk, Tuscarora looked OK last Saturday, This week though the HEAT is HELL, but it should still ski.
Happy hunting (for snow that is)
what snow remains is fantastic. web cams give a good look. this weekend should be great - cool temps and clouds!
Great time up in the Warsatch with a buddy, his 7 year old son, and another friend skiing some good suncups the 14th of July.
I just about got busted speeding though on the back side of my head sliding down BOMBAY when I pre-released on some DEMO binders that I failed to adjust correctly (eh-hum) after a few turns. Righted myself and came to a halt above a very not so good situation in time though, it only took a few "farmer blows" to get all the snow out of my sinuses after dragging my face on the nicely formed suncups.
Other than that it was a great day to be skiing! Now only three more months of pain and then the white stuff will fall again.
PICS of both the June and July Wolverine Experience to follow, and SOON
Snow Quality (1=poor, 10=Excellent): 5, hey its July man!

Spreadeagle was a great demonstrator of Newtons Law's, as well as the releasability of 'the Speedpoint' by Marker.
For a split second I began to think about my first aid kit being a little weak, but his boots sending a 15 foot roost resolved that.

august/september the real test
What is usually the final stand for skiable snow in the wasatch?
timp "glacier". though i skied devils castle apron on august 30 or 31 last year, and we were lucky enough to get a fairly significant storm in the last day or two of september. otherwise my consecutive bid would have ended with my broken leg on april 30 this year. i guess 18 in a row isn't to bad, but i ain't no smuggs. oh well.
^^See above.
