Corn harvest in full effect this morning. East faces were ripe at about 9 at 10500. South faces ripe at 10, same elevation. West face was still firm and supportable at 11, 10500.

Nice Timp shots and NW couloir shots. Jealous.

I had some plans for this weekend, but had to deal with house shit. This week and next weekend will hopefully make up for it.

Skied Upper Pole Couloir on west facing Cascade Mountain. The day's warming surprised us with the snow surface becoming saturated about noon. We pressed on until 2pm and then skied it. One-third of the way down the couloir, a moderate wet sluff drained into the right fork of the couloir (about 200 feet from us). It was a bit tense. Fortunately we all got down okay and it was a blast overall. Our timeframe for climbing/skiing was planned for typical melt-freeze hard pack in the spring. Instead, the snow was still very loose and unconsolidated from the mid-week snows. Dumb idea on our part. We should have been out of there long before. Something to keep in mind.

Anyone want to go touring wednesday? Everyone I know is gone for the year and I'll be rolling solo if I can't find anyone, not sure where.

Not yet. We parked at the Squaw Peak lookout, then hiked to the base of the couloir. It's about 2 miles.

N and NE aspects in Cardiff skied well all morning with the few new inches of light density that started to get manky by mid morning. South aspect on the way out was good corn around noon.

I've gotta give Marauders credit for putting today's line on my radar.

It was fun. It seemed like the mountain was bowling down the couloir now and then, but we used our mad skills to dodge the rockfall. Temps over the last week plus the few inches of new stuff helped smooth out old avy debris and runnels. Had do do some navigating around rocks, but for the most part we skied creamy consolidated up high, corn in the middle, and creamed corn down low around 11:30 - noonish.

    Bushwacking wasn't too bad.

Had a great climb/ski on the SLC Twins yesterday. Lots of big glide releases in broads fork, some 10'+ crowns. A skiff of new snow made things interesting.

^SE ridge of East Twin. South side was hard as rock making for good, confident climbing.

^a little slice of the wasatch

    ^ nice views as always

^ This was interesting. A 2.5' deep, 75' wide slab that pulled out on the north face of east twin. It was very sensitive and popped out with alot of energy. Lots of wind loading on the high ridges yesterday.

we rode the east face. The skiing was, well, well it was nice to be skiing lets put it that way!

Found a little pocket to pull out today on the Emmas. Watch that new snow a bit.

The new snow stayed relatively dry on N through NW aspects around 9k in park city this afternoon.

    NO PICS - Just Obs.

Went up 5/25 to see if there might be a line amongst the Altaqaeda camp and was more than surprised to see that the WHOLE DAMN MOUNTAIN WAS TRACKED OUT! Mysterious since I have put some nice lines down Little Chute, Perlas Ridge, The Triangle, The Ridge, and upper Keyhole and other shots into Snowbird in the past ten days.

SO, I took an about face and looked up at Flagstaff that only boasted one skinner and tonz of opps for fresh lines since Mondays storm. It did not disapoint. With little time I made my own ascent up to the ridge seperating Dayz and LCC and descended SW-SE from the summit just do East from Flagstaff. I am not usually in to South Face shots from here but it was dreamy and fast.

Toledo boasted a nice big slab release (top 10-24", and about 50-75' wide) on true South and a Superior of course was looking like pinball alley.

Get some!!! Recommended that people hit up Cardiff and Dayz N-Facing shots because the wind and protection looked like it was preserved well.

Good conditions for June skiing in Main Chute still. Dirty snow, not suncupped yet, somewhat slow, a bit soft at 9:30 this morning. Snow to the parking lot for another week maybe.

The avie debris at the end of the chute melt out or get skied out yet? Looked pretty gnarly on Saturday.

    Thanks...

Hooray for Tram-accessed Main Chute! Might have to get out for a quick run up there this weekend.
    I'm so hardcore, I'm gnarcore.
