    wasatch observations...

This morning I observed a massive junk show down parleys canyon. The junk show continued up little cottonwood canyon. A Big "fuck off" to the sheriff who made me stop on an incline which then caused me to slip off the road. I Put some chains on and continued. We skied SE. facing between 8-10k. Visibility at times, was down to about 4 fockin inches. Initiated soft slabs upwards of 3 feet deep without much effort. Snow was of the blower variety. In general, it was the deepest south facing turns I've ever had at this time of the year.

25" so far, with another 25" lined up by tmrw morning. umm hmm

Yes, yes it is, I would hate us as well. Good to take a run with you guys this AM Nate, sorry I couldn't keep up, gotta get off them cigs. Today was rad, 17 inches in 12 hours. Tomorrow the radness shall continue. Did notice it was kind of slabby at the bird today though, pushalanche is a very good term for it.

^^^^ Liam and I too observed a massive junk show going down parleys canyon and then up LCC. Two+ feet of moderate density snow on W-NW shots around 10,000 in upper LCC. Had to go steep today...looks like tomorrow will just be better!!! The canyon is closing at 9 am...hum what to do???

No junk show that I was aware of. Must have timed it right. Road was pretty slick in spots on the way down early afternoon though.

Interested in anymore snow obs if anyone has any to offer. Shit was pretty all over the place earlier, and I'm guessing just got sketchier. Like, pushalanche-ing your pants off.

yeah i didn't notice to much instability at the bird, weirdest thing was a (small) sympathetic i set off on the top of the amphitheatre. reeeeaaaaalllly want to get into some BC stuff but considering my already exciting winter i think it'll have to wait till saturday. thinking about a last hurrah (hopefully not) wolvy session. pretty incredible that after 140ish days this year i still want so much more. whoever's having dirty sex with mormon chicks and fueling yet another ridiculous april, keep doin what yer doin.

Maybe upto 50' wide and running 100' but we were in the trees and i'm guessing above tree line you could trigger something that might get you into trouble.

On a side note the skiing was excellent.
Had some soft slabs inbounds at bird as well. Bout the same variety. Had one remote above me about 30 feet...just pushed me a little, but i can only imagine with last nights additional snow that it will only get a bit worse. Hoping they keep rd to provo and pow paradise closed until Saturday. Likely they will unless they can see it.

probably be a junk show up "da bird" tomorrow, but hey...pow days in may...woot woot.

We came up from Mona using a truck. We got a little ways, to probably 6,800 feet before the road was too snowy to continue. Every little bit helps.

skied down next to little cloud, decided it was a good idea to send the cliff band far skiers right on the last pitch of LC, where most people jump off left and take it small, i saw an alternative and hiked up maybe 40 feet above the lip. had a tree in the landing to clear, top to bottom it was maybe 15 but i needed to take it a good bit bigger/ came in hot and caught something on takeoff. got pushed to far forward and lost a bunch of speed so my ski caught the tree i was trying to clear. snapped right at the boottop, wasn't a binding non realese issue as i think it was mostly the boot that caught.

I'm pretty sure I was looking at the same air this afternoon, and saw your tracks. I pussed out and didn't hit it.

Right above the top of gadzoom right?

I know some of ya'll are going to the bird tomorrow. Anyone wanna hook up? My peeps are all working tomorrow but I'd love to get some more alta laps in. Shit was EPIC today.

Edit: If someone could meet me near 9th and 9th and give me a ride, that would be even more ridiculously cool.

Shitty to hear Nate I talked to Mitch around 1:30 as i skied into the dock and he told me you broke both but no details. You've got my number I have shit tons of DVDs, seasons of TV shows etc if you want/need anything just let me know or I can just grab a handful and swing them by. Vibes for a quick recovery.

How sickter was today though?? I also skied about 3 runs today, but rode the tram from the first one to the second to last one . As well as a few ski on little clouds between my first and second tram laps. It was a good one today and I cant wait for round 3 tomorrow.

I will definately be there today, with all the hordes. I should be rocking some Praxis Pows.
Low post count because I'm too busy working and then skiing, but not neccessarily in that order.
