I got backstage for the Pixies/U2 concert in the Boston Garden on St. Patricks day 1992. A good friend of mine at UMass had been in the dorms with Frank Black and Joey Santiago and got us hooked up with tickets and passes. We started celebrating with a pub crawl at around 7am, went to the parade, racked for a couple hours then went to the show. Since we were just friends of the opening band, we didnt get quite the treatment you did (never saw Bono except when he was on stage) but it really was a cool experience.
Not the best Pixies show, but i was just in awe of the whole thing.
Fortunately i was not quite drunk enough to hit on kim deal.
