The one hour of the week when I know no one is gonna ask me for anything, or even really care that I exist.
"The Apprentice" is on, and everyone I know is watching it except me.
Bliss.

I've always wondered: Is a shit ton heavier or lighter than a regular ton?Originally Posted by altachic
Just wondering.
Being too busy starring in my own "reality show," I am also not watching The Donald.
Of course I don't have cable, so I couldn't watch it anyways. Also waiting for the pizza dude to arrive so I can pop "Lost in Translation" into the laptop and watch it again. Now that's worthwhile programming!
(Oh, also checking the forum to see what I've missed in the last two hours.)
I do not watch that $h!t.
I did just watch The Heroes Heroes of Telemark , which was really good.
"Steve McQueen's got nothing on me" - Clutch
It's heavier.Originally Posted by iceman

"High Life" is rippin here... for the millionth time....
Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things.
Never watched a whole episode and tonight was no different.
I did catch the last 20 minutes and I’m glad that bitch Jennifer was fired.
Shows I haven't watched, ever:
Apprentice
CSI
Law & Order
Survivor (well, except for maybe 10 minutes here and there)
But I can't get enough of them Golden Girls!

I like that show. It brings me into a world I'm far, far, far away from. Which makes it interesting. I'm trying to understand what makes people like them tick.
First season was interesting in that way, but by the end I realized I wanted nothing to do with that type of corporate backstabbing/politics and can't bring myself to watch more than about 5 minutes this season.Originally Posted by slippy

They're in it for the challenge of success too. Lots of guesswork and intuition involved. I thought it was just greed motivating them, but for some it's more than that. I don't see them as rats; rats are more cubicle dwellers with dead-end jobs.
Anyways, I've only bothered watching one episode this year, I like it but I'm not gonna plan my week around it. I'm intrigued by their personalities (or lack of one), not the game.
Are we talking about people or the game?Originally Posted by slippy
I said money and power, not "greed." Money or power equates to status, success, and a lot of other goals people might have beyond greed. It might also validate insecurities in other aspects of their lives. However, I don't think many of them are in it for the "challenge" of success. I'm pretty sure most all of them would take fortune and prestige without challenge.
A rat race = a maze with obstacles and a prize at the end. So again, I think you misunderstood the intent of my post. Besides, earth is a pretty small cubicle in a relative sense.
