    34 km ride

My 7yo daughter rode in a fundraising ride held by the local Rotary club to raise money for an orpanage in Honduras. It was 34 km on an old rail bed from the Paulson bridge to the Christina Lake public beach. She just kept going and going ang going. Towards the end she was moving pretty slow. She only complained twice. At one check stop she said, "I wish this was the end of the ride." then at about 30 km she said her hands were sore. She managed to collect just over $700 in sponsorship and won a new bike worth about $500 for her efforts. It is a way too big but she does not want to trade it in for something her size because it is a nice colour.

Tell your daughter for me a very big CONGRATS, on the long ride. Very cool that she kept going even after the fun was over. $700 is an amazing amount to collect.

I also love that she wants the bike for the color. She's becoming a woman already.
I want a 6" travel 20lb MTB. I found the 20lb MTB, but only good for riders under 87 pounds.

I like it! That's pretty sweet.

Although, I sort of disagree with GT. When she complains the entire ride and then keeps the bike for the color, she'll become a woman.
    It's idomatic, beatch.

Glad to hear she is starting young.

Keep the big bike, she will grow into it.
    Although it might become outdated.

Congrats to her on her ride.
