    Help with Quiver??

Well, a new addition to the family forced a late season reduction in the number of skis but I think I cut too deep! I have some 185 cm PR's for pow and some 185 XXX's with several core shots (and broken edges) for early and late season recon. The PR's do not seem too popular here but they have worked well for me (6 foot, 165 lbs.) as a powder ski and all-around ski. But, before the funds get completely shut down I want to get a better non-powder day ski when you are hunting for pow, skiing bumps, scorching a few groomers and playing in the park. I want to do this somewhat on the cheap so I am looking at last season's 174/180 Scratch FS, 180 V-Pro's (the new 177 Karma's look promising), 181 1080's or 179 Public Enemies. I have searched this board and elsewhere and have not seen much feedback on these boards (except for the Karma's). Any comments from people that have actually skied on any of these (or others that may fit the bill) would be appreciated. I would ideally demo them first but I have seen most of these 40 to 50% in the SLC area.

sportsliquidator has last years AX4's for $399
    untracked.com has them for $439
I don't know about sportsliquidator but I bet you could talk them down at Untracked. Might not be the best park ski but for scorching groomers, playing in the trees, hunting for leftover fresh amongst the crud, and a little bit of bumps it'll do nicely

I might look at bandit xx's. You can get them cheap now with the B2 out. I have seen lots of unmounted/new pairs in the $300 dollar range. It a good all round mid fat and it's pretty decent in the pow.

    Don't be retarded. Don't buy XX's for $300, or $200, or $100.

I have no personal experience with any of those skis, but here's my $0.02.

1080's, V-Pros, and P.E.'s are all very popular. There is a reason... Karmas seem to be well liked and in last years Powder gear guide they said that the Scratch FS is a very underrated ski for what you are lookin for.

I forgot to add.... I just got the latest Sierra Trading Post catalog and they have last seasons Scratch FS with Axial binders for $540. Not the cheapest, but an idea...

I wouldn't recomend the PE's or the 1080's. Both were kind of fun to play around with in the park but When I wanted to get out and take them to speed the edge hold pretty much sucked and they got chattery. I have the G4/Ax4 and I love that ski everywhere on the mountain. I also have the scatch BC, I know its not the Fs but that construction seems to hold up better and ski better than the Solomon Spaceframe skis. This post is completley opinon and now I am going to say: DEMO, JONG!
