Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care
Hey, now, huh-huh
Hey, hey, hey, no, (Ow, now)
Hey, now, huh-huh
Hey, hey, hey, no
Fire (Uh) [Uh]
Fire (It’s all about) [Uh, uh]
Fire (Woo, woo, woo)
Fire
The way you walk and talk really sets me off
To a fuller love, child, yes, it does, uh
The way you squeeze and tease, knocks to me my knees
‘Cause I’m smokin’, baby, baby
The way you swerve and curve, really wrecks my nerves
And I’m so excited, child [Yeah], woo, woo
The way you push, push let’s me know that you’re good
[You’re gonna get your wish] Oh, yeah
Fire (What I said, child, ow)
Fire (Uh-huh)
Got me burnin’, burnin’, burnin’
Got me burnin’, burnin’, burnin’ (Yeah)
Got me burnin’, burnin’, burnin’ (Yeah)
Woo...hoo...hoo...baby
Start burnin, burnin’ baby
Ooh. Ooh, ooh, ooh
Burnin, burnin’ baby
Oh, baby
When you shake what you got, and girl, you’ve got a lot
You’re really somethin’, child, yes, you are
When you’re hot you’re hot, you really shoot your shot
You’re dyn-o-mite, child, yeah
Well, I can tell by your game, you’re gonna start a flame
Love, baby, baby
I’m not gon’ choke from the smoke, got me tightenin’ up my stroke
Do you feel it, girl, yeah

Walking away in this case is the right thing to do. one of the basic rules for deciding to "let one go" is when the roof is more than 25% involved in windy conditions. Write it off, and move to one you can save.Originally posted by ak_powder_monkey

If either of those homes had non-flammable roofs, they would probably have survived.

Balls Deep in the 'Ho
Word is now that another 200+ homes have been lost today. Of course with the scale of what's going on, it may be many days until any reporting is accurate.
500 fire engines have been called up from Nevada and Arizona. They han't called up this far North yet, but it may come.
My girlfriend spent the weekend in San Diego. Her flight barely made it off the ground on Sunday because everything was covered in ash. Hopefully everyone who knows someone in the area doesn't have any bad new. And hopefully the winds recess. Has anyone here done firefighting? I was talking to my dad about it as a summer job/risk/persuit. Anyone have any advice/stories?
Awesome job. I've made the move from timber cruiser to fire fighting in the last year. Been red carded for 3 now.
Call where ever it is that you are going to apply. All applications for the USFS go through the internet. You want them to know your name.
Also, you might want to drop sherpa_style a PM over on the Powder board. sherpa is on a shot crew based out of Idaho and probably has a ton of good advice.
